For the past 3 days, the left side of my headphones has had no sound coming out of it.....I think the speaker may be blown or the wire loosened. Could someone please help?

Olanb2010 no sound left headphone:
If you have a tester check tip of jack-plug to sleeve, which on a 3-way standard 'phones plug is the longer back one next to plug body. Resistance should read in the region 8 ohms to 32 ohms depending on phones. If open circuit/broken you'll get infinity which on a DMM is usually displayed as O.L, or an analog meter just won't deflect on ohms scale.
If faulty, remove left ear-cushion, open by screws if any, or if glued/ moulded, lever speaker-plate until loose.
If colors are standard, green wire is the left signal, copper is GND.
With speaker solder-tabs facing you, left tab is GND and right tab is Signal, often marked +.
If wire's broken off, clean end & re-solder.
Test continuity (ohms) of speaker across solder tabs.
If phone looks ok this end, problem may be at jack-plug especially at strain-relief. Bend cord along various sections and feel for excessive 'floppiness'. Your break is probably there. Cut & join or fit another jack-plug.

Harman Kardon AVR 25II no sound from left channel

Sounds like the left channel has blown in your AVR 25II. If it was a faulty headphone jack it simply wouldn't send an output signal to the speakers.

Jvc gumy ear bud headphones purple

When you pull the wire up does it increase the right ear bud volume/ sound? If it does, then it means the right side ear bud has a short within the head phones circuit which is aka the wire that leads to the musical device in which the ear buds branch off from.

If the right side ear bud does not produce an increased volume for sound by picking the wire up or pulling it in towards you or to the left side of your body or musical device then it means that the right speaker is blown.

I know that all head phones come spiced together aka they are stuck together and have to be pulled apart in order to get both head phones seperated from each other so that they can be worn in the ears. If you pulled the wire apart to much or too quickly then that is what ruined the right head phone.

I suggest that regardless if the ear phones begin to work by pulling the wire up,side ways, or into towards your body that you return them back to the store since after awhile the problem will eventually continue to happen causing the right ear bud to completely blow. Once you return the ear phones be cautious with the new set when you seperate the ear buds from each other since they are very touchy and have to be handled with delicateness when seperation is taking place.

Please let me know how it works out for you. I have had many ear buds and I tell ya something; they are very easy to blow one side when seperating. I had to learn after a few pairs that I was ruining the speakers by the way I was seperating my wires. I kept thinking for the first 3 pairs that the store was selling blown ear buds until I began having same problems with another few stores so I said to myself "well the solution is to figure out what I am doing wrong in order to blow one side of my ear buds every time". After few seconds it was not that obvious that all I had to do for assembly was to pull the wires apart in order to get both ear buds to go into my ears.

Right side volume is less as compared to left side of my head phones what i do solve it

Replace your headphones. It sounds like there is a blown speaker or faulty wire/connection.

Only right side works

hello rrwunsch!
please check wiring first to find out if headphones broken or it is a connectivity problem. for that, if you connect with rca plugs - change right to left and vice versa. if still left headphone has no sound so the speaker is blown. hope it is only wiring problem.

It turns on,everything works normal and sound even comes out of the headphone jack.but there is no signal coming out of the speaker jacks.no sound or test tone

Hi depending on the design some receivers , when you plug in headphones, speaker sound is disconnected by the headphone socket so it could be faulty, or there may be a separate switch to switch of the speakers, (while using headphones) if so that switch could be suspect. I dont think the amplifier part of the receiver is at fault as you say you can hear sound at the headphones. It is not impossible though that a fuse has blown inside the amp, If you unplug from mains and look inside you may spot a blown fuse , (only replace with one of the same rating).
Hope this helps

Ive a problem with the volume of the headphones, the right one works fine but there is no sound from the left side....ive tested the headphones on other electronic equipment and the headphones work the...

Hi,,in most cases what causes one side of the headphone to work is because, the wire that is connected to speaker inside the headphone might have cut and it's not contacting properly.

What you will need to do is to open up the head phone (left),and check if the wire inside has not cut, If it has removed ,then you will need to put it back with soldering iron and a lead...

But if the wire inside has not removed and they are intact, then you will have to replace the left speaker .

Hope that helps...

Sounf come thru the right side but is silent in the left headphone

Hi,why sounds comes out from one side and the other side silentis because, the wire inside the speaker has cut and it needs to be soldered back with a soldering iron and a lead.

Sometimes it might also be from the speaker itself if it is damaged.

When you solder back the place that has cut, problem solved.

Thanks for using fixya....

Only hearing sound out of left side of headphones

i think the problem is in the jack of your sound blaster. since you have already tried different headphones and the problem still persist, and when you use speakers it works fine. i conclude it is the jack of your sound blaster card.

One speaker element may be blown or wiring may have internal break. It may be cheaper to relace the phones rather than having them serviced, unless they are still under warranty
