How to change announcement ?
Before using this answering system, you
should record the announcement (up to
one minute long) that callers will hear
when the system answers a call. If you
choose not to record an announcement,
the system answers with a prerecorded
announcement: “Hello. Please leave a
message after the tone.”
1 Press and hold "ANNC/SKIP" . The system
beeps. Speak toward the microphone
normally, from about nine inches away.
While you are recording, the Message
Window displays —.
2 To stop recording, release "ANNC/SKIP".
The system automatically plays back
your announcement.
To review your announcement, press
and release "ANNC/SKIP".

Need to change the date
You’ll need to set the clock so that it can
announce the day and time that each
message is received. Press "Play/Stop" to exit
Setting the Clock at any time.
1 Press and hold "Clock" until the
Message Window displays C, and the
default day is announced.
2 To change the day setting, hold down
"Memo/Repeat" or "ANNC/SKIP" until the
correct day is announced. Then
release the button.
3 Press and release "Clock". The current
hour setting is announced.
4 To change the hour setting, hold down
"Memo/Repeat"or "ANNC/SKIP" until the
correct hour is announced. Then
release the button.
5 Press and release "CLOCK". The current
minutes setting is announced.
6 To change the minutes setting, hold
down "Memo/Repeat" or "ANNC/SKIP" until the
correct minutes setting is announced.
Then release the button.
7 Press and release "CLOCK". The new day
and time are announced.
To check the clock, press and release

AT&T 1717 How to turn on Announcement Monitor.
You can choose whether to hear the
announcement when your system answers
a call, or have it silent (off) on your end
(your caller will still hear an
announcement).
1 Press and hold "Setup". After the Ring
Select setting is announced, continue
to press and release "Setup" until the
system announces “Monitor is on (or
off)”.
2 Press and release "ANNC/SKIP"or "Memo/Repeat"
until the system announces your
selection.
3 Press and release "Play/Stop" or "Setup"
to exit.

Set the clock
You must set the clock so that the system announces the correct day and time with any incoming messages. After this, if you subscribe to the caller ID service, the system will update the clock eac h time new call information is received. Press PLAY/STOP to exit at anytime while setting the clock.
1. Press and hold CLOCK until the message window displays C and the default day is announced.
2. To change the day setting, press
MEMO/REPEAT or ANNC/SKIP until the correct day is announced.
3. Press CLOCK. The current hour setting is announced. The correct day setting is saved.
4. To change the hour setting, press
MEMO/REPEAT or ANNC/SKIP until the correct hour is announced.
5. Press CLOCK. The current minute setting is announced. The correct hour setting is saved.
6. To change the minute setting, press
MEMO/REPEAT or ANNC/SKIP until the correct minute setting is announced.

How to set number of rings
Use Ring Select to choose how many times
the line will ring before the system
answers a call. Set for 2, 4 or Toll Saver.
When you set the system for Toll Saver, it
answers after four rings when you have no
new messages, and after two rings when
you have new messages.
1. Press and hold "set up" for about two
seconds. The system announces the
current ring selection.
2 Press and release "ANNC/SKIP" or "MEMO/REPEAT"
until the system announces your ring
selection.
3 Press and release "Play/Stop" to exit

Erasing recorded calls from remote location.
It takes a lot of patience; however pursue an AT&T telephone number that is manned by a live person; then follow a trail of phone numbers until one of them connects with a helpfull live person who is familiar with the problem and who then furnishes a very simple solution.

Unlocking phone
You will need to find a local cell phone dealer who will unlock it for you. Try searching for used cell phone dealers. I had the same problem with the AT&T scoundrels. The dealer near me charged me 20.00 and threw in a car chrger too.

Unplugging the answering maching
No..The at&t has a unique feature called Message Guard which saves the mesages when the power is turned off..SO u can safely unplug it.

How to register AT&T Synj SB67108 to new base unit SB67138?
To register an AT&T SynJ SB67108 handset to a new SB67138 base unit, you will need to follow these steps:
- Make sure the new base unit is plugged in and turned on.
- Press and hold the "Menu" button on the handset until the display shows "Menu."
- Use the navigation buttons to select "Registration" and press "Select."
- Select "Base" and press "Select."
- The handset will begin searching for the new base unit.
- Once the base unit is found, it will be displayed on the handset's screen.
- Select the new base unit and press "Select" to complete the registration process.
- The handset should now be registered with the new base unit.
