Hello, yesterday, I purchased an AT&T 3

is the base in range of the other two bases, have you set each phone in the main base so they get aquainted., are you shure all plugins are snug? try a different telephone wire to hook up to the base from the wall (might be a bad wire) if that persists, try relocating the base, and test it their, if you are still without dialtone use a cell phone and call your tsp say it randomly stopped working and that you changed nothing... they will send someone out :P

I have at&t digital answering machine 1717 and lost manual

The code it usually set up by you on the device, if you run through the set up procedure (Time Date, message) on your machine one of the steps is the remote access code, which the machine should read off to you at this point, you should change this to a code you can easily remember and not leave it at the factory defaut as this would leave your messages openly accessable to other parties.

Hope this is of some help.

#1739 answering machine hooked up but keeps asking for "password"

The unit appears to be stuck in "message retrieval mode) and is asking for your password to give you access when you call in(remote answering). You need to return the unit to it's factory default settings. If you don't still have the instructions you can get them here:http://telephones.att.com/docMgt/public/art/309494/1739_manual.pt2.pdf. Power cord

http://telephones.att.com/docMgt/public/art/162/1717_manual.pdf

The power cord is
Input: 120V, 60 Hz.
Output: 9V AC, 400 mA.

So , there is no need to worry about Polarity here. Just make sure , the output voltage is around 9V. DC input is ok. since there is bridge rectifier inside.
