I know it is a bit late but my company had the same problem just a few weeks ago and I figured out a work around that might help.First of all, we have a computer dedicated to our Savin 2400 that still runs XP. I found this http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/33088/print-files-from-anywhere-via-any-device-with-dropbox/ which allows you to set up a dropbox and has a .vbs script that is set to auto print.From there it was easy, just go out and download a pdf image writer like this onehttp://www.pdfill.com/freewriter.html or any other document writer and set the default folder it saves to in the dropbox print queue. This will let you hit print, select your document writer (which you can rename to "ricoh") and print away!

The equivalent model is Aficio 240W.
Go to the quick search and in the left tab scroll to the wide format an in the right tab select the model (240W).

the pc you have installed the plot server should be login as local admin

When you select the user or the path for the folder you can view it on the screen. Simply type in your PC the path to see where you are sending.
On your PC click the start button, then RUN. Write the Path you see in the machine. At last ENTER

Your Gestetner A045 is made by Ricoh. I will be a lot easier finding a Ricoh dealer than a Gestetner one. Here are the equivalent models for your machine. That is, any dealer listing that they service Ricoh, Savin, Lanier or Gestetner should be able to service it.
Your machine is the same as:
Ricoh Aficio 240W
Savin 2400WD
Lanier LW310

make the reader option is enabled in the server application
there should be 4 applications running

scantools is installed with plotbase.
are u able to print?
if not , u need to install the full software .
(hope u have the serial no.-- on the interface card in the pc)

1. Start - Control Panel - Administrative Tools
2. Local Security Policy
3. Local Admin Policies
4. User Right Assignments
5. Lock Pages in Memory - Local Security Setting
4. Add User or Group, then Advanced
5. Add or Find Now - select users (all)
6. OK
7. close Local Security Setting windows

If you are changing a paper roll, make sure you can advance the paper through the "throat" using the green knob and then manually trim it. If you are loading paper in the cassette tray, make sure you adjust the green sizing guides to match the paper dimension (8.5x11", 11x17), etc.

You can't. As I said you need the service engineer with the laptop. These Office Machines are NOT consumer serviceable. They hook up the laptop with the Ricoh software and it interrogates the computer, the mainboard and everything on it. Hello Christopher Are you in the Philippines? I notice that your copier has changed from Ricoh to Gestetner? We are a North American website. This is a commercial office machine, and from my experience of them is that on the right side you will see on the inside, a list of instructions for where to check for obstructions. It seems you have already done this 8 times! Frustrating! Try this; Open the right side cover, unlatch all the bits at that side. Open the straight pass door on the left side. remove ALL the paper drawers. Get a powerful flashlight, look in all the spaces you have just created, especially at the edges of drawers and paper pathways. You are looking for a tiny piece of paper that one of your employees carelessly left behind after a paper jam.The one I found was right at the back of the straight pass door. When a sensor is covered, it creates that message. If that fails, Ricoh will have to come and attach their Laptop scan software to it which will tell which sensor is obstructed or has failed.
