That printer will work in both direct thermal (no ribbon) and thermal transfer (ribbon) modes. If you are using media designed for thermal transfer printing and don't have a ribbon it won't print anything.

When I have that problem with my GK420t, it seems that the font needs to be changed. Try switching to one of the other "Zebra" fonts.

2 possibilities: a) Headset failure(rare) b) Verify with settings printing, if it prints the windows logo fine, then is a software problem and it's comming from the software generating the text or the settings to send to printer.

You can use FAN-Fold Labels with the GK420 Printer. If you look at the back of the printer you should see a slot where you can feed the labels into the printer.
