Display goes off after few seconds

Possibly you have an overheating GPU or CPU problem. If you can do it, then disassemble the laptop and: - Clean up everything (use canned air), - Replace the cooling pad or cooling paste of GPU (if applicable) and CPU, Reassemble the laptop. Before you disassemble this laptop, you can check the air inlet, air outlet and the fan, and clean them up using canned air. I hope it solve the problem.

I have one Lenovo ThinkPad SL400 Notebook os win

In Skype's preferences, it allows you to configure your microphone(s). I would check here to make sure it's working properly from within Skype. It's possible that you just have it muted. If it doesn't show up here, fire up Device Manager and look for the microphone there. If everything looks good in both places, it's probably a network issue, maybe you should try something other than Skype?

Bluetooth driver

The same model ThinkPad can have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless you know exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download all the drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download the drivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a record of which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files are located on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows device drivers for your model computer, Use this link:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true

My original of this battery is dead, I want to get a replacement of this battery

If you are buying a replacement battery, remember two things, 1 get the EXACT power specs DC Volts and Amps. 2 Beware of inexpensive batteries, sometimes they don't work well with your laptop. Search the Lenovo website for a idea of what Lenovo charges. Do a little research on the website you intend to buy from, reviews of customers for instance. Good Hunting.

My Lenovo Thinkpad SL 400

Hi kingston_koa,

Getting different colors with vertical strips are common effects of broken LCD/screen. Broken LCDs needed to be replaced. With this one, the best thing that I can recommend you is to contact Lenovo specially if your machine is still under warranty. They offer free repair and parts replacement depending on your warranty coverage.

Hope this will help you.

Thank you for using Fixya.
