Hello there,

If your screen is blank but the keypad lights up it shows that the phone is alright but the screen is faulty. If the screen looks broken that confirms it all, but if it does not look broken, then it means the ribbon connector that connects the screen to the main board of the phone has a loose connection and need to be reseated properly.

To do that will require you to disassemble the phone and reseat the ribbon connector or replace the screen depending on your choice.

hi. first,. SORRY for my bad typing...i know how to fix it, had the same problem earlier this year with the blacklight gone after a bad update, but you can fix it easly yourself without turn it in.

you can goto www.sonyericsson.com and download the update and that SHOULD to the trick..

that is a norwegian link. but if you click on the flink that says " Last ned Nå"  you will download the program that will install the new update, you can instal the program in english, so that  is just peace of cake from there..

try to dismantle your phone clean the contact point for lcd and and the problem still there,go to repair center and replace light ic.

In that case if you can receive the call then there is display Problem you should change your display,
If your not receive any calls then please renew the Phone Software
Both Can be done only in Sony Ericsson service center Please Visit your nearest Sony Ericsson Service center they will provide you solution.

This is a famous issue with Sony Ericsson phones, all you want to do is to update the phones firmware. I have had this problem in my W595 also.
For an update you need 3 thing.

• You USB data cable of this phone (Comes with a new phone, in the box)
• Update Utility (Download here)
• And a steady internet connection.

If you have all there just download that application I've provided you the link of. Install and run it. Follow the on screen instruction to do an update.
Note: All the data will be lost, so copy everything in the Memory card and put it out before updating the firmware.

update your phone firmware, then u problem is solve and all jar file or game are work.

Remove the battery and clean the terminals. Also make sure that the contact list contains the numbers on the phone book. It is also possible that the phone has hung up because there are errors in the software. So to reset remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Using your PC , scan the memory card for any corrupt files or media files with virus- it is possible when they are downloaded from unsafe sites. If so remove or format the card. Now replace the card and battery and switch on the phone. If the phone hangs up then it is confirmed that the software is corrupt and will need a reinstallation. Seeking help from the authorized service /support centre is most ideal. Take estimate and decide.

that is a hardware problem.you should have it opened up and the screen interface inspected, cleaned and reattached if problem persists, then the light Ic responsible for the LCd is gone faulty.they should replace it.
