should get you going unless the battery is discharged.Oddly,
batteries can discharge when the GPS remains on the car charger.

if it came with one) over night. The computer must be ON - "sleeping"

Try a different cable.
Believe it or not, this really could be the issue. I tried a camera cable that worked fine with the camera, and a cable that came with a disk drive, then finally a cheapo cable that I'd picked up at the dollar store. That one did the trick! Go figure.

Need to change serial number
You cannot change the serial number of your unit. This is installed by the manufacturer, Garmin. Why is Raytech asking you to change your serial number?
FORGOT MY PIN
Take the unit back to your security location which you set when you set the PIN code. Turn the antenna up, and it will automatically unlock. You can then reset the PIN code.

You will need to send it in to Garmin along with a copy of your receipt to prove ownership, and they will reload the software and maps. There may be a charge for this service.

Go to Garmin.com, click on Maps > Buy Maps. Enter your model number, then tell them where you are going and they will give you the options to either buy an SD card with the maps or buy a CD with the maps on it. The easiest is the SD card.
