Pumping more water out than what i put in
This coffee maker uses a resevoir tank system - the water you pour in pushes out water that is already heated - the water you pour in won't actually be used for that pot of coffee! For that reason you should only use full pitchers when filling. You may need to cycle through 2 or 3 fillings before the input matches the output once more.
The capacity of the resevoir is about 3 pitchers; you can brew 2 pots in a row before the machine needs a break to bring the resevoir back up to temperature.
I pour water in my Bunn VPR coffee maker and it
you need to take it apart and clean it out. hard water is horrible on these machines. once every three to four months we clean ours. take the top off and you will see all the calcium deposits. need to clean it out. you can use CLR, just make sure you run the hell out of it before serving. you may need to let it sit over night once you get the majority of it out. after that you can run "brew-right" through it. just follow directions
Bunn Series VPR, pour water in, water comes out
Test that you have it plugged into an operating outlet.... Check that all of the switches are "on" (the warmer and the heater switches). If this doesn't help, you'll need to unplug the unit and test the switch and element for proper operation. Both can be tested for continuity. If they all test good, then I'd suspect the thermostat.
Good luck and best regards, --W/D--
Not sure how to use it. Can you only pour one pot
There is a one and a half gallon holding tank inside this coffee maker, you can maybe brew 2 pots one after the other but then you need to give it time to recover. When you pour hot water in it pushes hot water from the holding tank out the spray head...hope that helps :)
Water leaking our bottom of machine
Hello. Anything can be fixed, its how much do you want to pay ? :)
Anyway, it sounds like the tank basin fitting is clogged, or blocked by something, or scale build up. Take the lid off, unplug first please, then look down into the hole in the basin. This should be open to allow water to go into the tank, clean if not. The pipe to the spray head, up under the funnel may be clogged also, there is a "deliming spring" that is supposed to be used to keep this clean/clear, you can get from Bunn, or a local servicer found under "restaurant equipment repair". If you don't have one, a spring, you can use some wire, not very big though, it has to make 2, 90degree bends, about 18 inches long.
Hope that helped, and thank you.

Warming tray too hot
You can either replace the warming element with a new one, or some people put 3 or 4 pennies on the top of the warmer tray. Don't laugh- this really does work!
Rumble noise when heating
The maker keeps the water at a certain temperature. When it is heating there is a rumbling noise. If you do not use it often the water may have evaporated and it may need more water in it. Always turn it off for long periods if not in use like going on vacation or just using occasionally. Refer to the post for "need a Manual' to clean.
How to prep to brew good coffee
Hello, that sounds fairly good, as you describe it. Here is a link to your units manual:
http://www.bunnomatic.com/pages/techdocs/manuals/pourbrew_warm.html
go to the bottom of the page, and select the operation manual for a VPR. It is advisable to let the unit sit for approx. 20 minutes after filling, cold water works best, and you need to make sure that you pour the water in before you plug it in, as the heat circuit is always on, whether water is in it or not, including if all the water has evaporated. The manual for the unit should answer your questions.
Hope that helps, and thank you.
My bunn coffee maker is just dripping when it is
Hello, I am wondering how long between times you are stating, as most Bunn commercial units, stay heating 24/7, and if water is not poured into the machine every couple of days, they will evaporate off water that is held in the tank. This drop in water level can cause short brewing, slow brewing, etc.. as the unit relies on a vacuum or suction to brew properly. You could also have a leaking tank gasket, or brew tube gasket, and it is seeping air into the tank, breaking the vacuum/siphon action, and then seals with water, or expansion at other times. Another cause would be scale build up, and pieces are floating in the tank blocking the flow of water, or your spray head may be clogging/clogged, which minor cleaning should take care of the sprayhead, and tube, or a major cleaning necessary for the tank.
Hope that helps, and thank you.
BUNN VPR Overheating
Thermostat is either bad or your heating element is bad. Check both and also check for calcium and lime build up
Bunn coffee maker leaks water
There are 3 seals in your unit that could cause your problem. there is a silicon seal right under the pour-in tray, and two on the top of the tank. one of those is for the thermostat, the other is for the sprayhead tube. any of these could leak, causing water to come out the bottom of the brewer. One other thing that can cause this is a scale buildup between the pour-in tray and the tank.

Thermal switch in the burner is defective. You can take it apart and replace it. You have two possibilities here. If you take it apart, you will either need to replace the temperature control switch completely. You will see a part number and mfg name on the switch. See you can find an electrical store near by that has them. Or, there may be a seperate "high temp thermal switch" on the burner element. Don't know that particular design but either way it sounds like the thermal swich is not letting the burner shut down ans cyclt as it should.
Coffee pot
I am having the identical probem, I plug it in, it starts to heat, but no brewing. I have removed the lid and the water pan underneath, and looked into the opening. When heating, the voltage on the main heater is 110 volts. It stars to steam, then the unit switches off.I think that for some reason,it's not allowing the temp. to rise to the boiling point. Anybody have any ideas? I'll check on that one way valve in the meantime.
