you didn't say what kind of antenna you have attached to the TV. The antenna is very important and the type of antenna you need is based on where you are in relationship to the television stations in your area. Even being down a hill In the area can be a problem for antenna television. I had to put an antenna in my attic because an in-door antenna could not pick up the signals for the TV stations in my area, I am down a hill.
What you have describe here is a broken screen. You need to have the screen replaced to get it fixed. The screen is liquid filed and something has hit it hard and broke the back that is why you have the broken glass picture and the lightning bolt.
The most common reason for this is a faulty backlight controller. This can be due to bad capacitors or a faulty inverter controller board. It is repairable by a tv repair engineer.

You may sell this TV on Ebay (list your exact symptom). Start at 100 you will get about 250. Take this money and buy a new TV.
LCD backlights don't fail often but when they do there are no part available to repair them so you get stuck buying the complete assembly part. This is more expensive than a new TV since LCD prices have dropped so much in recent years.
I am deeply sorry but you will need to replace the backlight bulbs. These are not available.
Look on Ebay for a 32" JVC with a broken LCD Screen. Buy it and use these bulbs to fix your TV. I am sure there will be a few good ones in the broken TV. It's that or list it on Ebay for $50 and expect to get about 200-300.
LCD Panel repair for this problem is $500 for parts so you are stick with repair yourself or sell.
If so, call JVC for the software update. I believe it may even be posted on their site. You can check in the TV menu to verify. You should have F108 or higher.
If the update doesnt apply, you need a Digital PWB for the TV because it is defective.
