Samsung lnt4069fx/xaa. im getting nothing but 5 red flashes

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication. You can get an idea about the faulty stage circuit inside the TV, by the number of these blinks. Count it carefully, by switching it ON and OFF, more than 2 times at least, so that, you can make sure about the number of these blinks. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. Surf the site in "MOSAIC" view. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Left Half of the Screen is Dark and the Other Half is Bright. Why is this?

It could be the display panel but that is rare unless the connections inside for the left side are bad or damaged. Some info:Audio but there is no picture or brightnessThis is a common issue in many LCD or Plasma sets and it does not have a common solution. In most cases you need to first check for missing voltages on the power supply board and for damaged filter caps there. If good voltages exist then look elsewhere.LCD (not projection) sets often use a back light to provide the light source for the screen unit (display panel) so confirming that the voltage for those is first-if the back lights are being used but not on it is either no voltage, not being turned on by the set, or bad light unit/s.In these sets there are also boards that "Drive" the panel itself. Usually the set will use two boards (some combine both into one large board---names vary but are Inverters, Y-boards (Y means video) T-con boards etc. Usually in this case only one half of the screen will be black but it is possible for it to cause a total loss of brightness also.Plasma sets are similar to some degree but with no back light in most cases.Trouble shooting can be tedious and expensive-Taking one of these sets apart requires some skill as one wrong move and the Display panel can be instantly damaged which is fatal from a repair cost point of view.Other possible solutions include but are not limited to physical problems---loose plugs or connections between boards (look for any plugs held down with tape where they plug into a board). A lot of people with problems play the guessing game-buy and try a board after research which can get expensive and may not fix the set---To gamble or not?I have seen sets where every single board was replaced and set still did not have a picture-means display panel is the problem. The problem can even be the "main" board in some cases -it controls the communication with the panel and if faulty can cause issues.Aside from checking voltages, connections etc. there are a few other considerations---The problem can be the display panel itself---Part cost for that is more than the set cost when new.The panel connects to the boards that drive it with either a multi-pin conventional plug or a RIBBON CABLE.The worst case is if the problem is a ribbon cable etc. bad or damaged INSIDE the panel where it cannot be got at.That means if the case set would cost too much to repair. The connectors where the cable attaches outside of the panel can also develop dirty or loose connections.Fans in units that use them can be an issue if dirty or not moving. As you can see (or not if no brightness) the problem sounds simple but has many possible different causes.Let me know if you have questions as I am here to try to help.SD TECH

Sound is OK only colored vertical & Horizontal

Well, if your Tcon board you put in was new, I would question the tuner board at this time.
Sounds like you purchased the t-con off ebay so I would also question that as well if it was new or your bought someones problems.
Other factors like power supply are still questionable at this time as well.
I would have a tech locally check this out before getting further into debt trowing boards at this tv in my opinion.

Samsung HD TV no picture sound is ok only

Hi,

This is an indication of faulty T-con board(LCD Controller board).

First, the unit needs to check for loose connection from this board and the mainboard. The cable must be pull-out, inspect and then re-insert and ensure that they are properly seat-in. If the symptoms still persist, you have to replace the T-con board.

If you can't troubleshoot the unit yourself, I would advice you to seek for an assistance of a qualified TV Technician to isolate the problem.

Hope helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

Also, check if the unit is still under warranty period, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free. Opening the back cover will void the warranty.

Hope I helped you.

I have a samsung 4069 and when i try to turn it on

Hi my name is Eric,
I hope I can help you with your issue ,
The TV not starting properly you should hear the tone noise (bleep bleep) not a ticking noise or no sound .
These Samsung LCDs have problems with the power supply capacitors going bad, a servicer will charge between $200 and $450 to repair it replacing either the capacitors or the whole board.
here is a DIY (do it yourself) solution:
It could be just a few bad capacitors on the power supply, if you want to attempt the repair yourself you can do a visual of the power board caps will appear swollen on to.
We do not recommend do it yourself, but depending on your knowledge and technical ability you may be able to.
with the back removed you will usually see two circuit boards the upper one is the power supply, it has a few capacitors on it (cylindrical standing straight up soldered in mark on the sides with the positive/negative sides and MF and Volts values)
Samsung uses mostly 1000Mfd at 16Volts rating capacitors, they cost about $1 each (680mfd will also work fine)
usually I replace about four of them (or all the bulged on top ones) .
The power board and back unscrew with a medium philips screwdriver, if you do not know how to desolder and resolder then do not attempt this as you may damage the TV more than fix it.

best of luck to you
Hope this helps, if it has solved your issue please click accept
But if you have more questions please respond and I will reply asap
Thanks

When you turn it on it takes 30 minutes to come

You have dying power supply more likely due to bad caps, that is what you should look for, do not keep trying to use the TV or maore damage may result due to unstable DC voltages with a lot of AC ripples feeding the circuits.
Look for caps with leaking/bulging tops/bottom seals.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on: Please see my basic troubleshooting guide here: http://www.fixya.com/support/r5093881-lcd_flat_panel_tv_troubleshooting_guide http://www.fixya.com/support/r6150077-basic_lcd_monitors_troubleshooting Failed TV and Monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm Learn about bad caps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague Parts: www.shopjimmy.com Capacitors kit: http://lcdalternatives.auctivacommerce.com/Default.aspx he can make you a set of caps. I have a Samsung LNT

Yes,
This is a problem with some capacitors on the power supply board, they have defective formula. The ESR levels are high and they can't hold their operating voltage. If you have an extended warranty by all means take it back exchange it for a new TV.
