Hi, I'm sorry you are having problems with your sony HDR fx-1, first thing your firewire or i-link pens is bad, it may be bent or broken this is why you can't connect to a pc , and the reboot issues may be battery problems not charging or bad cells in the battery try replacing the battery,I hope this info will help.

These camera are not DIY repair candidates. I would suggest that you seek out an authorized Sony service center. Most of these are sent to 1 of 2 locations for repair for a fixed cost.

Well you need to install the compatible driver/software in your computer to transfer your HDV to computer.......

(Just copy and past the above link in your web browser. and when the page was open you just select operating system to download a compatible driver........)

The best thing you can do now is to take it to a specialist and get them to do the repairs. Camcorders have a lot of electronics in them and can be easily damaged if your a not an experienced repairer. You might also have to consider that this camcorder might not be repairable.
