What does it mean when it says c:31:23 and blinks the eject symbol?
That is a condensation error. I have the same problem. When I put a tape in it won't let me record or play tapes. I have been trying for over a yr to get it to stop. If u record with digital 8mm then u can only transfer with dig8mm. When u try to play it on just a 8mm inwhich is probably analog. All u see is static like nothing on tape. If u fig.out how to get it off lmk. I've tried many things and no luck.
Why is there just a black screen in eye view?

can play your cassette? if the picture is clear in play back mode,then there may be problem with the image sensor (CCD) in the camera,open the camera, measure the voltage at the CCD board if the voltage is not correct check the fuses on the mother board.
Recording from a vcr
check a/v imput on camera settings, make shure that u have audio alsso conected, tried to use diferent output (DVD), make shure is playing .,
C-31:22 FLASHING AND DINGING
don't smack that'll just make it even worse there isn't much you can do to fix it so justbget a proffesional to get it repaired for you goodluck...

code C31:23 means that the FWD back tension value is too high due to grease
sticking out of the "Gear Assy, Gooseneck", adhering to the band of
"TG2, Arm Assy" or "Table Assy, Reel”. First remove all
batteries and then shake the camera hard (or alternatively hit the bottom hard
with your hand -at your own risk-), this will remove the error. If it still
does not then you have to give the camera a couple of hard taps, on the side and base. Please do rate the solution if
the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
