You need to put the disk back into the recorder, select the finalize function from the onscreen menu, and follow prompts. Do you have an owners manual for the unit?

The DVD needs to initialise the disk first. Come out of the HDD dubbing menu and press DVD on the remote. The blank recordable disk should be recognised and you should see Initialise disk? on the screen. Press Start and hey presto, you can now dub from the HDD Movie dubbing menu (as per the manual instructions).

Hi there. You need to "finalise" the dvd before you can view it.

no codes out ther for this it due to the macrovision reason for the banner you get .

Mine did to, it was the fan at the back of the recorder. I fixed it by inserting a cardboard spacer between the fan & the case.

I beleive you can only dub from hdd to disk,
Try formatting the disk first.

I had the SAME problem...sort of. American Gangster UR got to a real cliff hanger of a place, and then would go no farther. When I tried to push a forward arrow, it started rewinding. When I put another DVD in my player to see if it was the DVD or my player, it ruined THAT DVD too. Now I get the message "DISC ERROR," no matter what I play, so I have two broken DVDs and one broken DVD players! HELP!

Hi. I have this machine and it will only fast transfer if the original hdd recording has NOT been edited (i.e part deleted/divided/combined). This is also in the manual p51/52.

go to dvd set up then scroll dow to lock then push 0 seven times

maybe you'd got a wrong installation of your dvd.

The cd tray eject after put in the DVD movies, but VCD working fine...it is means that the drive's region code haven't set yet .(please refer to user manual to setting the region code) ..or unplug the recorder drive from the dvd player,using the computer setting to change the region code by connecting to computer's IDE cable .

A message will appear saying it is region free.
