How do i change the mtu setting on my belkin n

You can adjust MTU from within the Belkin Router administrative console. You really should not be changing it unless your current ISP gives you a specific MTU setting, otherwise you could disrupt internet connectivity.

Default IP address: http://192.168.2.1
Default admin username: Administrator
Default admin password: <blank>
Be sure to set a password for your router!

This is the address where you change MTU
192.168.2.1/wan_pppoe.html

Finding password for belkin router

do you forget your password or what well try either of thesee. hope it works
  1. Connect the computer to one of the four LAN ports on the router.
  2. Open a web browser on the computer.
  3. In the address bar of the web browser, type http://192.168.2.1
  4. Click Login in the upper right-hand corner of the page. The router does not ship with a password, so just click Submit.
Click on System Settings under Utilities on the left-hand side of the opened page
  1. You will see a feature called, "Administrator Password". Type in your current password
  2. Click "Apply Changes". Your new password is now active.

Do not forget the new password and keep it somewhere safe. If you forget your password, you'll be unable to access your router's settings. If you forget or lose your password, you'll need to perform a hardware reset on the router. This will reset the password to its default, as well as erase any and all other settings you may have changed.

Internet tv is asking for

When you purchased the router, you should have configured the wireless interface:
* set a SSID, a "name" for your wireless network,
* an encryption-level. Hint: use WPA or WPA2
* a password for your wireless network.

Do that, and then use the SSID and password on your Internet TV, to connect to your network.

Trying to secure wireless network

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. If you want to secure the network you all you need to do is to access the router settings page and put a security either WEP, WPA or WPA2 and a Network Key or Passphrase.

To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access the router page just open a browser then type 192.168.2.1, the Default password is blank

Click on Security under Wireless, Select WEP, WPA or WPA2 and personalize a Security Key or Network Key (Passphrase). Security Key serves as a password on the network.

If you have questions please let me know. Thanks for using Fixya.

Internet connects, however when we

Is this a cable service?
It is possible you have a bad connection. Either inside the house or outside.
Cable.. You will have a cable modem connected to the cable.
One main thing to do is to re-trim all the ends of the cable at every connection point between the modem and the outside connection. Replace any old connectors or splitters with new ones of correct value. The idea being to remove any oxidation which will impair the signal. If none of this helps, you may need the outside wiring looked at. Your connection service should do this at no charge.
If you have not done so, power off the modem completely, including removing the battery back up.
Wait about 20 seconds. Reinstall battery and power connection. About 20 -30 seconds to reconnect.
"few hours everyday" might indicate a problem outside, (wiring or junction box) possibly warming up in sun and cooling later?
On the PC. Use the connection wizard to "connect to a network". Connect to your own network on every pc you use.

Wireless not working

Hello,
There are many reasons why this might be happening.. You could try the following steps..
1) Disconnect the power from router for a minute and reconnect and check. 2) Try changing the wireless channel and Network name and try re-connecting. 3) Check if there is an firmware update for your product and update if any update is available. 4) If none of the above steps work you will need to reset and re-config your router. ( For that you need the CD given with the router and you will need the ISP settings.)
Hope this helped

No iternet connection for widows7amber light keeps

Do you see the network on the pc you are trying to access the internet from? If yes, then check to make sure the cable is securely connected from the router to the cable/dsl modem. Try to change the cable out completely if you can. You can also try to bypass the router to the computer to make sure you do have a signal coming in for internet. Try to reset the router and reconfigure it. If you on a loptop make sure you have the wireless on, some models you can switch wireless on and off and this will prevent you from accessing the internet.
