There could be something wrong with the loading senor for your washing machine and it should be looked at and repaired from someone that fixes washing machines and the load sensor needs to be replaced too.

This could be anything from a faulty water valve , machine not draining , faulty electronic board , faulty timer unit ...For the machine to continue it must complete its last cycle . If its a top loader, most machine s have a dispenser on the top panel or somewhere in the top of the splash guard of the tub. On a front loader.... I have never seen a bleach dispenser on any of them.

Not the lid it will be the lid switch faulty. It thinks the lid is open even though it isn't. Replace the lid switch.
