USE441A02R-ProLiant DL380 G4 HP NC7782 Gigabit

I have the same problem and have seen two possible options for resolution...try updating the NIC's firmware and it could be a motherboard problem that needs to be replaced by hp. If either of the options provides the solution, let me know. I'm in the midst of it. (I've tried updating the drivers, swapping network cables, even feeding the NIC a known connection that gives 1Gbps.)

Is there a BIOS setting on the DL380 G4 that needs

Please check in your BIOS and see if that "Function" is available, usually it is. Otherwise it makes it real hard to do anything. However what we used to do in "The Old Days" in a machine that didn't, was to do an install on another very similar machine, also place on it, ALL necessary "Drivers" for the actual machine you will be using & transfer to a Directory, on the new machine. Then on the new machine, at FIRST Bootup, boot in SAFE MODE and Rip all the Drivers out of Device Manager, and reboot, NOW it will detect the new hardware and ask for Drivers, point them to the place you had prepared for them and Install. A bit of work.. but gets there in the end. Don't forget USB Flash Drives as well.

Hi i have many hp dl380 g4 and i did not

There is no "default". Each is unique from the factory and is printed on a tag hanging from the front of the server when it is delivered. You will need to contact HP for help with this.

Hp DL 380 G4 no display on screen, all the status

We had the same problem with a G5 version of the dl380, no video at boot or OS boot. This model fortunately had another video out on the front panel that worked. However, I believe that the G4 does not have that option coupled with using the Rage XL's from ATI for video. Have you tried installing another video card into the expansion slots for video? If you are able to, you may find that when you run your smartstart and load/reload the OS your video will work with the onboard.

I am using HP DL380 G4 SERVER,cd rom drive is not

Make sure the BIOS is fully updated from the HP website. Most DL3-series servers supported booting from an external USB cd, try F10 or F12 at boot in order to bring up a boot menu.

HP DL380, drive 1 and 2 lights are not on, but 3

Boot from HP Diagnostic Media (SmartStart CD)and check the status of Array.....or harddrives...
If showing any failed status or not supported..
Replace drives to check if new drives show status...
It could be because of Drives not intialise for Array..

Boot to Array Configuration Utility...during bootup and go to Intialise disks....
Use them

I want step by step guidlines on how to instal

You don't actually install SmartStart. You boot from the SmartSmart CD and then based on the menu selections you make, it will configure RAID and install the appropriate drivers to prep the system for the OS of your choice. After this, it will initiate the installation of the OS.

Since your server is a G4, the CDs you have are probably very out of date. I would recommend downloading the latest SmartStart from hp.com before proceeding.

If you already have an OS on your DL380 and are trying to update the drivers you are looking for the Proliant Support Pack, not SmartStart. This can also be downloaded from hp.com - the exact directions for installation vary by OS but are included with the download.

DELL DL-380 G5 "could not allocate page table memory" GSS 2.5

First of all, Dl380 is an hP product.
Secondly your ghost version seems a bit old as ghost 14 is the latest version. Having said that the problem could be at two ends.
1. At the ghost side where your version doesnot contain NIC drivers for PXE boot and HDD drivers for imaging. To fix this you can try manually adding the drivers to the network boot or floppy boot diskette.
You can get the drivers from HP website or the PSP CD that came with the server.

Alternatively you can upgrade to RDP instead of GHOST, RDP is Symantec's offering sold by HP for imaging it's servers.

2. There's some problem with your NIC settings or card if you are trying to PXE boot.
If you are using a floppy drive/ usb HDD, check from BIOS if it is detected.

No display on DL380 g4

This can be caused by a processor / VRM issue or even a system board fail. Try dropping to a single proc and VRM and swap test with the others.

HP server with 2k3 reboots again and again.

Hi,

Have you installed any service packs for Win 2K3?
if not yet, please go for the latest service packs since there were some problems identified with win 2k3 and this is one of them.

You can also try restarting the sytem in safe mode by pressing F8 after boot screen.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.

I have a HP DL

Are you able to get into the array configuration and make sure the logical drive is still intact? If the logical drive is gone, then your partition may be lost. If you are able to recover the logical drive in your array (which you should be able to if the RAID5 striping was stable) then you should be able to recover your data. You can get into the array configuration during the boot up sequence.
