Whirlpool Gold Duet GHW9400P 3.8 Cu. Ft. Front-Loading Washer - Page 2 Questions & Answers
Interior ring deteriorating
I suspect it's the aluminum spider arm that spins the back of the tub. The moist environment and the ionizing laundry detergent causes a chemical reaction that corrodes this easily and it breaks. It is covered under a lifetime warranty, so call Whirlpool and ask them to send the whole tub unit (the spider arm is attached via machineshop). You will need c-clip pliars to DIY or have a serviceman install it, and be sure to label the clips for when you put them back. This happened to us. The seal is part of the tub unit. Good luck!
Will not spin
We need a little more information, Im afraid. If the problem is that it wont spin, what you might need to do is check and make sure that the Spider arm is not cracked and broken- which means disassembling it. That is what happened to us. It's actually attached to the tub itself which is covered under lifetime warranty, so they sent us a whole NEW tub for free, but that means you have to take it apart and install it yourself or find someone else who can. This may or may not be the issue. Is there an error code or does it just beep long and not spin?
Liquid Bleach dispenser doesn't work correctly
This may not be relevant, but by design, bleach does NOT dispense in the Buly/Bedding, Kids Wear, and Silk/Ultra Delicate cycles. If you try to use it, it remains in the dispenser.
As for the yucky smell, leave the door open when not in use.
Flashing F02 in the middle of cycle
Seems to be fault in the KEYPADS, check the connectors, check the harness , Remove the connections from the control panel and reset the connectors. If the fault stays then it be due to problems on the board. check the door switch.
LF COMES ON MY FRONT LOADER LED SCREEN
LF error means "Long Fill". Whirlpool uses a flow meter that detects the flow of water entering the washer. If this flow meter does not detect the correct amount of water entering the washer it will sound the LF error code. Often this repair can be made with out calling an appliance repairman and without ordering parts. Start by removing the washer fill hoses; both the cold and the hot water hoses. Check for proper water pressure from the house. To do so, turn the water on and put the hose inside the washer or a bucket. If water pressure is good, check the water valve inlet screens. Most residential washing machines have inlet screens. The screens prevent minerals from clogging the solenoid. With the hoses removed, you can visually inspect the water inlet screens. If the water valve screens are clear the inlet valve with the screens itself will need to be replaced. To replace the water valve, remove the top of the washing machine. Three screws hold the top down. The screws that hold the top down are on the back of the top panel. Once removed the top will slide back and off. Now remove the wire harness that connects to the valve. One screw holds the valve to the washers cabinet. Removing the screw and sliding the valve over will release the valve from the back panel enabling you to complete your repair. One last thing to check is the fill hoses. These front load washers call for a lot of water quickly. So if you have stainless steel braided flood-safe hoses, they will trip for no reason at all. Replace these flood safe hoses with more traditional hoses. If the hoses are good and you haven't found anything slowing down the flow of the water, your electronic inlet water valve is just faulty on the back of your washer and will need to be replaced because it's just not allowing water flow into the washer correctly. Here is the valve to order in case it is faulty.

MY DUET AND ME
Ok, you have two issues here that will need to be corrected. check the details below.
F-11
Serial communication error
Communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly.
Potential Causes
• Check Wire Harness connections to the MCU, the motor, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
• Check the Drive system for any worn or failed components
• Check MCU
• Check CCU
• Check Motor
• Check Wire Harness
Replace failed component.(Most common issue here is a failed wiring harness)
F-14
EEPROM error
The Central Control Unit (CCU) receives it’s data from an EEPROM on board the CCU. If there is an error reading this data it will cause this error.
Potential Causes
• A power glitch may cause this error. Try unplugging the Unit for two minutes to see if that fixes the error.
• Check CCU.
Replace failed component.(if the reset doesn't clear thsi issue, replace the CCU)
Getting F dl error on Whirlpool Duet HT
"Fdl" is normally cause by a failure of the door latch assembly. However, before assuming you have a bad door latch, the manufacturer recommends you unplug the washer for 30 minutes to reset the computer. If the error still persists, here's a link that provides all the instructions necessary to replace the latch:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r587965-door_latch_replacement_fdl_error
Searspartsdirect.com carries the replacment latch you need. Just type in your complete model number and look under the listings on the next page. There should be a link for door latch parts. Repairclinic.com also carries to part, sometimes for less. I hope this helps you. If you need further assistance, please let me know.
