Whirlpool GH7208XR Convection / Microwave Oven Questions & Answers
Error code F2.Q1
Not sure what you mean by "Q1 Touch FMEA" above, but F2 error code indicates a bad keypad or sometimes a bad sensor.
Since it's brand new I would first consult the manual. If you don't have it still, you can download it from the owner center here: http://whirlpool.com/custserv/index.jsp
If you still have trouble, since it's new, it should obviously be under warranty, so I'd contact them (same page as shown above) to get it repaired under warranty.
We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

I have a GH7208XRS-1 microwave
These units have some connection problems, especially in the keypad / controller areas.
One way to fix it is to take it apart, disconnect the connectors one by one, and then plug and unplug them a couple of times to wipe any oxidation away, then replug them and put it back together.
If that doesn't fix it, then you may need a new key panel or controller, but I don't have enough documentation on these models to help further. They are vastly overcomplicated, increasing the odds of failure.

What part do I replace?
First, make sure the oven is connected to a grounded outlet, and that the outlet is actually grounded. If that checks out, you probably have a failure of the control panel. If it's an expensive oven, it might be worth repairing; depending on its age. Over 5 years old, I'd replace it. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at

Microwave oven no power
The main fuse is probably blown.
When replacing, try to determine the cause.
if it has a bad door switch, then the monitor/short switch also must be replaced. On an inverter, replace the power relay as well.
If the fuse holder is not holding the fuse securely, then it will heat and blow.
A failing component in the high voltage circuit can also cause the problem. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at

GH7208XR Error Code #7
Behind the right front corner faceplate is a bag with the tech support info.I used this and went through all the troubleshooting and got to the power inverter board. This board has the 2 red wires out of it that go to the magnetron. Instead of replacing the whole inverter module , I examined all the components on it. I found that there are 2 high voltage rectifier diodes attached to the transformer and 1 of them was not testing good. The diodes are UXC2B diodes.. Just clipped out the bad one and soldered in a new one.Hope this helps..

GH7208 no fan while cooking
If there is spark please do not switch on unless you have confirmed the fault. It is possible that the Magnetron is leaking and sparking to the ground. As you have mentioned it was stored, it is quite possible that insect can get into the oven and create soft spots. When you switch on these will create a short and make the voltage jump and in the long run damage the magnetron. So Remove cover after disconnecting , check for dirt/moisture in the cabin, if so wipe clean and dry, check the magnetron and area clean and use an jet air to clean off. Now switch the microwave power on and use a cup of water to test. If you notice any sparks shut off as the magnetron or the main HT capacitor can be faulty. Replace with same type. If not check the waveguides within the cabin for food particles that can burn and spark, check for rust that can corrode and spark when the ceramic paint has worn out. If there is heating without any issues, you can use the microwave safely
