Unit will not power up.
Hey,
The case is most likely faulty, open the case and take the hard drive out from it, then connect it to your computer directly, inside.
If the hard drive has a special connector that you can't connect to your computer please tell me what kind of connector it is and I'll see if theres a adapter available or new case.
Thanks and good luck.

External hard drive not recognized
Hi,
I think the hard drive is causing the issue as the two computer were unable to detect the drive.
In this i want you to disconnect the hard drive & clean the golden edges of the drive and the connctors and connect it back.
Go to BIOS menu & check whether it is detected in the BIOS or not.
If it is not detected, connect the hard drive to another computer which can boot to windows.
And run the diagnostics using the software from the WD site.

Error code information you can get from

Check with this.
Good Luck.

Ejecting of harddrive
Hi,
The only reason for the display "generic volume cannot eject now, try again later" is because it is still being accessed by your PC. This may be due to considerable large file size being transferred and/or being backed up, virus scan, a utility is still doing its work.
To answer your concerns:
1. Will there be a problem ...
Normally no, but yes it does happen. It happens when the actual physical removal of the USB connector(s) is not a continuous single motion.
2. How do you eject ... Shut down/power off your PC, once off remove and reboot.
Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.

It varies depending on the operating system. You can create a Linux mint DVD and boot that without installing. It will take a moment as it is reading the OS from the DVD then see if you can see it, if so it is OK, if not something is bad or set wrong in the USB hardware system.

Seagate Service center in the philippines
You don't need a service centre.
Take the drive out the caddy and plug it into a working computer using a SATA to USB cable. If the drive is functional then you'll be able to read it. If the drive is dead then you'll need to get another drive.

External hard drive won't start up
assuming that "wont start up" means that the drive letter is not visible thru windows explorer/my computer, which is already installed and booted from an internal hard drive...
the seagate drives, often, require a patch to work with some windows installs- especially if it is larger than 3 terabytes, and occasionally, if larger than 1 terabyte. if this is the case, the patch is most easily obtained by emailing customer service.
if this is not the case, please provide more specifics as to your computer, your version of windows, and exactly what it is not doing when you say 'not starting"
