More information might be necessary:

Are you still using the original software that came with your phone, or have you flashed a new ROM onto it? Have you flashed a new radio ROM onto it? If you don't know what I'm referring to, then you are probably using the original software. :)

The easiest way to test your GPS on the P3600 is to go outside and stand in the open without any obstructions in the sky (ie: no trees, buildings, etc. around).

Start the camera and in the upper left corner you will see a little camera icon with arrows pointing left and right. Press the left arrow until you see a camera with a cross-hair over it. This starts the GPS on the phone and it will say "GPS Initializing GPS...". Give it a few minutes, especially if you have not used it before. It might take as long as 5+ minutes. If it times out and says it was unsuccessful, just try it again. It should work after the second or third try.

If not, then you probably have either a hardware problem with your GPS, or the Radio ROM needs to be re-flashed. If that's the case, it is more complicated, and I will get into that with you in detail if needed.

you will need to unlock the CID(country Identification) first to allow you to flash an english (or greek if there is one) rom

Easy auto-install Instructions:

1. Unzip unlocker and run AUTO_Unlock_v1.bat

If you don't want to install automatically, or for some reason the process doesn't work for you, here are the manual instructions:

1. Transfer SSPL/SSPL-TRIN.exe to your phone and run it
2. Tri-color screen will appear
3. Disable activesync (file -> connection settings -> uncheck "allow USB connections")
4. Connect your phone to your computer using the USB lead.
5. Run RUU/ROMUpgradeUtility.exe
6. Follow the flashing process (Check the "I understand..." and "I completed..." boxes and update!)
7. Allow your phone to reboot.
8. Transfer TRIN_Unlock_v1.exe program to your phone and run it
9. Click the Unlock Button, select unlock option. Select if you want SIM/CID unlock.
10. Click "Unlock!" and wait until process finishes.
11. When done, turn off your phone for 10 seconds and reboot after that.

after successfully unlocking the cid you will be able to flash any rom to your phone, english, chinese, greek etc

after unlocking the cid/sim i recommend downloading hardspl and installing this as well. This allows a good recovery rate if anything went wrong during flashing.

UNDERSTAND ONLY FLASH ROMS MADE FOR YOUR PHONE (trinity) you cant flash roms made for other phones, if you try , you could end up total destroying your phone, with no way of reversing it

Many free unlock code are just fake like many non trusted website to get REAL unlock code to unlock your device, personally i use http://www.mobileincanada.com/?l=en&u=usa to unlock all my USA device:)

I have a simple solution that may be worth trying...
Do you have a screen protector? Did you maybe have the phone jammed somewhere tight for a while and now it''s responding like this?
Take the screen protector off. Just for a second. See what happens

You must have either ActiveSync (for Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (for Vista and 7) running on your PC, in order to have your WM device synchronized. You can download any of them from this location.

Sorry for the delay in answering this; I've only just seen your problem. Although you may have since resolved the issue there will be others searching this site for an answer to the same question.

Unfortunately this problem is not uncommon on the Trinity P3600 (also sold as the Orange SPV M700). The only fix is to return it for an exchange under warranty or to get a repair estimate from a professional repairer if it's out of warranty. I understand from Orange that the problem is caused by a corrupted ROM chip and so there is no DIY solution. On the vast majority of affected examples the fault rears it's ugly head within six months of the phone being first activated.

If you bought your phone late last year when HTC dumped thousands of unsold new examples of this obsolete model onto the market (sold in the UK for example for about £60 each) then your example may still be under warranty. But if your phone is now around three or four years old then repairs will not make any economic sense as other components will already have passed their design life and so the phone will be running on borrowed time before another major failure.

It's still a brilliant phone though (very slow browser though, but good for the time it was made), so if yours is less than a year old it's worth repairing.
