hi there, do tell if you don|t know
- where the slot for the graphic adaptor is on that board or
- you don t know who made the graphic card or
- the board itself does not recognize the already inserted graphic card

I have found Windows 7 to be the easiest operating system to install but you need to have a minimum of usually 1 gig of ram. I have gotten it to work with less but it is slow.
Just make sure you are connected to the internet with a Ethernet (network) cable so windows will find and update all your drivers.
Back up and save all important information before starting, and do a clean install. I have used the Windows 7 file and transfer wizard which is easy to use. I have attached that link below.

It is Firewire port/ Interface. The IEEE 1394 interface is a serial bus interface standard for high-speed communications and real-time data transfer, frequently used by personal computers, as well as in digital audio, digital video applications etc. The interface is also known by the brand names of FireWire (Apple), i.LINK (Sony), and Lynx (Texas Instruments). This is not as widely used.It works just like USB but it is meant for connecting Firewire capable devices. If you have any firewire capable device (like video camera)and firewire cable, you can connect the device to your PC and use it for high speed data transfer.

The video drivers are messed up. The best way to fix that is to perform a repair install of Windows and then reinstall the latest video drivers.

This could happen if the PS/2 connector on the motherboard is defective, or if there is a failing component in the PS/2 circuitry on the motherboard.
Could also be due to loose solder points at the PS/2 connector.
This needs to be checked by a qualified technician.

Sounds very much like the capacitors are gone. Have a close look at all the capacitors. I think you will find some that have bulged at the top, may or may not be leaking brown liquid. If they are, look at it as an opportunity to get a better board!
