check with a different power supply if you have a known good one with the same wattage rating assuming you hit the power button and you get nothing, no cpu fan spinning no bios screen and no post beep. only the motherboard led on.

bluescreen can be caused by a number of things

a bad or faulty motherboard data lead or its connection if its a flat 40 pin ide it will be the first to failmake sure all leads have a dust free secure connections

a bad driver loose or faulty lead or not having enough ram

you might not have enough RAM random access memory not having enough will cause your computer to run over its maximum limits and can cause the blue screen of death and hang and cause memory dumps

if you're not sure if a module is right for your system, use the Crucial Memory Advisor tool for a list of guaranteed compatible modules.

first you will need to select the manufacturer from a drop down list then select your product line from a drop down list then select the model then click find it will take you directly to

compatible ram also you will have an option to scan your system

you should always ask the seller if they guarantee the compatability of the ram before making any purchaseif you dont want to install more ram uninstall some unnecessary programs

make sure your ram modules have a dust free secure seating and the CPU central processing unit has thermal paste

if you can get a screen

click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll through all of your devices

if you see a yellow question or exclamation mark ? ! or a red X you will need to update the drivers for this device right click select update driver/reinstall driver

if you computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it

or you might have to download one

or it might be a virus right click in bottom toolbar select task manager applications to see what is running and processes to see what is ticking over

Were can i find driver for my motherboard, is asus

You can find drivers at the asus site. However, If you select "motherboards" from the "Windows7 supported product models" list on the left side of the page, you will find the p4v8x-mx is not listed. There are no W7 drivers available.

You can still find drivers for supported OSes with the search function on the page. Pick "motherboard" from the product drop-down menu, then pick "socket478" from select series. Pick your model from the "select models" menu, and finally choose the operating system.

If you want to upgrade your system to W7, you'll need a newer motherboard as well.

I have NVIDIA 16 driver

Hi John ,
No , you can't . You can at most update the driver : Right click on " My Computer\properties " and double click on " display adapters " .
Visit Nvidia's site to select a new AGP graphic card you will be abble to find on the net or in any large computer store .
Note : a more powerfull card will ask more energy from your PSU .You need to check that also . PSU's are pretty cheap and easy to install .
Best regards,
fanaudi .

Cold boot no HD warm boot it sees the hard drive

Usually that is drive related not the motherboard. The drive may be slow to boot and the motherboard times out waiting for it. By the time you reboot the drive is running or spun up enough to get past this.

To confirm you can try the drive in a differant computer as a secondary and then run scans and any stress test software. You may find the drive is failing or about to.
