That's was a miraculous!!!!! My canon Image Class D860 is brand new now after following the steps.

1. Hit Additional Functions Key
2. Hit # key
3. Arrow to number 7, Printer and hit Set
4. Arrow to number 4, Printer Re-Set and hit Set.
5. Yes, re-set printer (hit minus key - back arrow).
6. Unplug the machine and plug it back in.

This just worked for me on a D860

Press the "additional Function" key Press the # key Press F3 key until "Printer" shows up. Press "OK" key Press F3 key until "Printer Reset shows up Press "OK" key Press the * (star) key Turn printer OFF then back ON

Maybe problem with the scanner,see if it mooves

Did you try to put the other one in,and got the same message?

Check any foreign meterial inside like staple etc,

Problem with fixing Unit, simple simulation will help. otherwise need to change fixing unit,, contact ur service engineer

Your developing unit needs changing and well as your transfer roller.
