Not able to print

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

My Lexmark x8350 has suddenly come up with

Hi Alan I think it is the cartridge that is causing your issue but I cant promise that it is.I can tell you from many years experience it very rarely is an issue with the printer breaking it is 99% of the time inferior consumables causing printers to fail, and sometimes wrecking printers so even when the customer does use good consumables it is too late and the damage is done, but we can't be sure of anything unless we start with basics and get 100% brand new Original Equipment Manufacturers carts (OEM) and stick them in. (no I don't work for Lexmark;)

The printer states that their

Open the printer cover and remove both cartridges. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions or foreign objects blocking the cartridge carrier path. Also, try to check for the encoder strip (transparent strip behind the cartridge carrier) and make sure it is not unseated from its position. The encoder strip helps with the mechanism of the cartridge carrier in the assembly.
When cartridge is clear and looks normal, close the printer cover. Unplug/re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, firmly re-insert the cartridges. If no error appears on the printer screen, try to print again.

It splits a line of printing in half

Hi there,

The reason for this line in betwen the printed letters is because of Drum which is a physical component like a ink cartridge. I would request you to change the Drum which is inside the printer as it will provide a error as brum end of life. I request you to take the printer to the nearest printer or computer shop to change the drum if you are not aware of changing the drum.

Hope this helps you to solve the issue. Please do vote or provide feedback on this solution as it will be appreciated.

Thank you

Once a doc is scanned

You can actually scan directly to an application(ex. MS Word application). Also, make sure the Lexmark OCR scan software is installed on your computer (the software is available on the install disc that came with your printer).
1. Load an original document into the ADF or on the scanner glass. 2. Press Scan Mode. 3. Press ? or ? repeatedly until the MS Word application is highlighted. 4. Press check button. 5. Press Start Color or Start Black to start scanning.

Our printer will not recognize

Try reading the card with another device such as a computer card reader, also make sure there isn't some sort of lock switch on the card. If the card will not read in another device it is probably faulty and needs to be replaced.

I keep getting the message

Message signals that the right cartridge is not correctly recognized.
May have several causes:
1. Cartridge model is wrong (not a Lexmark color cartridge 33 or 35). In this case one must replace the cartridge with the printer.
2.
You use the correct cartridge but it is not recognized correctly. Try to clean the contacts on the cartridge and the printer with a soft towel or cloth.
3. If after you have cleaned the contacts you received the same message means that the cartridge is defective and must replace it with a new one.

Printer is only half printing doc on each line,

Open the rear of the printer and make sure theres no paper jam or broken parts.

Try printing a document with the rear of the printer open and watch to see if anything out of the ordinary happens.

Hi:

When you first loaded the print driver there should have been a box to check to enable bidirectional communication. Most Lexmark printers require this to work properly
