When I turned on my Xbox 360 with the wireless controller, I found that after it started up, the console would not acquire a connection to the controller. I attempted to resync the controller and console, - Click sync button on console. - Held and release sync button on controller. - The controller and console both had matching spinning lights. - The controller and console blinked 6 times. Afterward though the console lights went dead, and the 4 controller LEDs continue to blink until the power pack is pulled. I have replaced the batteries in one controller, and recharged the pack for the other. I have tried the sync operation many times even right up next to the console. Any ideas?
Hey guys,
I've had the same problem today. The controller wouldn't connect no matter what. The strange thing was I could still turn the console on using the controller, but afterwards it wouldn't do anything.
Now I think I found a solution, at least for my case. All I did was to remove the HDD (that thing on top of the console) and put it back in. Then I started the console again using the controller and it was instantly connected.:)
Now I just hope it stays this way.;)

hi, my wireless controller, after only a couple of weeks of having my console, constantly loses its connection, but comes on again for a while after i restart my controller. the batteries show a full charge.
If you are using regular batteries try turning off the "vibration". I tried this and it works well no more problems.
I don't believe a wireless network would cause you to lose signal , i am sure Microsoft thought of this before the console was released. It could also be that your batteries are low and in need of replacement.

i have changed the battery and every thing but the controller will not turn on
If you're using the AA battery pack, try this.
Use a small screwdriver or other such tool to pry up the metal spring on the back of the battery pack as seen here:
This will give you access to the two small metal prongs underneath. Pry these up as well, as far as you can (see below).
Finally, push the metal spring back down just enough so that a little bump of it appears above the battery pack, like so.
Now power it up and test it out!

when i turn it on it works for a little bit but then while playing it just disconects and turns off and says to turn the controller back on. there is nothing blocking the controller from the xbox and i have tried changing the batteries but it does the same thing even with new batteries
The solution is VERY simple.
There is nothing wrong with your controller OR your xbox.
The battery indicator found when pressing your xbox logo button is temperamental. It might say 2 bars, or 3 or even full battery but this is not a good indicator of a full battery.
The problem IS low batteries - when the batteries become low the vibration function can cause the controller to disconnect. This is happens because the vibration function uses extra battery power.
So basically... Every time your controller vibrates, it disconnects. This occurs when firing a weapon in most games, grenades in COD, landing heavy tricks in Skate 2, the list goes on, you'll find many complaints from people stating their controller disconnects specifically with these events.
The simple solution, turn off the vibration function when this occurs. It'll never happen to you again ^_^
Thumbs this up when it proves correct for you. People will find the solution quicker that way.

I TRIED SYNCING IT MANY TIMES NEVER WORKED! I just got a replacement, same problem
If your controller is just blinking you must press the small button on your xbox and at the same time press the small button on the back of your xbox controller and the xbox will pick controller signal.

I bought Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows
and only 2 days it works good.
Now computer does not recognize (Xbox 360 Wireless
receiver - green LED does not shine on him) I checked all usb ports,
Did someone have such problem?
Xbox 360 Wireless receiver is dead - can I fix it??
help
ps.
I have viste32 sp1
or can I play with charge and play kit with Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows???
I bought this system recently, and it had the same problem from the beginning.
I
opened it, and found that the problem was the F1 Fuse that is cutting
the current. You have to open it and bypass (soldering) the two legs of
the F1 Fuse.
This is how to open it: http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/6896/openingoi6.jpg
and this is the circuit: http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/231/receivereb4.jpg
Hope this will help ;P

So I have wireless Xbox controller and I got a wireless PC adapter but
I can't get the thing to sync up. The controller works on the Xbox and
the adapter seems to working. The adapter will flash and I'll try and
sync the adapter but the controller just flashes, doesn't sync.
I installed the software, updated it, things should sync up but they don't.
Any suggestions?
I finally found a solution that works for me (most of the time). I bought a USB hub (un-powered at the moment) and the problem seems to have disappeared. The Hub however isn't the solution. Running the controller or the hub from the rear motherboard ports is.
I was initially using the 360 wireless receiver from the front ports on the PC which are driven by a different circuit on the motherboard than those from the rear of the PC.
When the receiver is run from the rear ports or in my case a hub powered from the rear ports it works most of the time.
Ocassionally the receiver doesn't link with the 360 controller however unlike last time when pressing all kind of combinations of re-sync buttons did nothing, all I do now is press the very tiny white button on the front of the controller and it links up like it should within 1.5 seconds.
I hope this helps guys as the controller is great when working.
Cheers

i need to know how to change the xbox 360 (wired) controller for windows, so that it is in the player 2 position.
Alright, I've been playing around with it and i found a way.
You'll need to be pretty quick with it. The best way i found is to hit the xBox button, then quickly unplug the controller and plug it into another port.
(You will have to press the xBox button, it will give you a better chance at getting this, it'll tie up the driver for a split second)
This will get you over to player 2. If it doesnt work the first time, try it again a few times, switching ports each time.

our xbox 360 wireless controller will not sync with the game console. It won't even turn on. We've repalced the batteries, tried to turn it on, pushed the connect button on both the controller and the base and still no green light, no connection.
If you're using an HDMI connection between the Xbox 360 and the TV, it might be that. When using HDMI, the Xbox won't boot up until it knows what the TV is capable of displaying. Although the controller will turn the console on, it won't sync with the console -- and it's not a controller or console problem, but just a symptom of the fact that the Xbox won't get to the point where controllers will sync until it can properly communicate with the TV. I'd recommend turning off the TV and the Xbox, disconnecting the HDMI cable and re-connecting it after making sure the contacts are clean. Then turn the Xbox back on first; you'll likely to see the same behavior. Finally, turn the TV back on. With it being switched back into HDMI mode, it just might "kick-start" the Xbox into a good communication link across HDMI. Hope that helps.

The wired controller connects to the xbox 360 and the lights around the X on the controller blinks, but the controller doesn't register and will only blink. I can leave it alone for as long as I want, but it wont register as Player 1 or any player. It doesn't register if another controller is already registered either. It has been working for a few months perfectly fine, only recently has this problem arouse.
Hi elxtigrex91.
The problem is in your drivers. Reinstall them and try again. xbox 360 drivers can be found at driverupdate us
I hope I have helped you...
Take a look, and enjoy
