Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller Questions & Answers
Xbox 360 controller will not turn on
If you're using the AA battery pack, try this.
Use a small screwdriver or other such tool to pry up the metal spring on the back of the battery pack as seen here:
This will give you access to the two small metal prongs underneath. Pry these up as well, as far as you can (see below).
Finally, push the metal spring back down just enough so that a little bump of it appears above the battery pack, like so.
Now power it up and test it out!
Help Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver For Windows, help help
I bought this system recently, and it had the same problem from the beginning.
I
opened it, and found that the problem was the F1 Fuse that is cutting
the current. You have to open it and bypass (soldering) the two legs of
the F1 Fuse.
This is how to open it: http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/6896/openingoi6.jpg
and this is the circuit: http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/231/receivereb4.jpg

Xbox 360 controller not working, all 4 lights are
The wired and wireless controllers can be actively connected to an Xbox 360 console all at one time. Each connected controller is assigned a quadrant on the Ring of Light. Before you can connect a wireless controller, at least one quadrant must be free and will be unlit.
Connecting an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller to an Xbox 360 Console is called Connecting. To connect a controller to a console:
First, Press and hold down the Guide Button on the wireless controller until it turns on.
Second, Press and release the power button to turn the console on.
Third, Press and release the connect button on the console.
Fourth, Press and release the connect button on the controller.
Fifth, After the ring of light on the controller and console spin and flash once, the controller is connected. The quadrant that remains lit indicates the controller's position.
Four Green lights on the controller's Ring of Light flash continuously
The Please Reconnect Controller message appears on the monitor
There is interference and the controller does not respond properly
Step 1: Ensure that either the AA batteries are new or the Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack has a full charge.
Step 2: Ensure that you have performed the proper procedure to connect the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller to the console.
Step 3: If still experiencing issues, ensure there is a clear line of sight between the front of the console and the wireless controller. If there are any obstructions, especially metal objects, remove them.
Step 4: 2.4 gigahertz cordless telephones, microwave ovens, and Bluetooth headsets for cell phones can interfere with the operation of the wireless controller. Turn off or unplug those devices and then try to connect the wireless controller to the console again.
Step 5: If these steps did not resolve the issue, the wireless controller may need to be replaced.
Wireless Xbox 360 controller dying right after connecting, what gives?
Sadly aleksander you have been done for. It is common knowledge that controllers bought from China are just copies that have far worse perfromance than other 3rd party ones even. It is because they use cheaper parts to make them.
I know they look offical but they never are. I would think you did not pay very much for them? They will not work. Just save a bit of money and get a few used offciall ones form someone on ebay then give them a good clean when you get them.
Wireless Controller not connecting to console.
Hey guys,
I've had the same problem today. The controller wouldn't connect no matter what. The strange thing was I could still turn the console on using the controller, but afterwards it wouldn't do anything.
Now I think I found a solution, at least for my case. All I did was to remove the HDD (that thing on top of the console) and put it back in. Then I started the console again using the controller and it was instantly connected.:)
Now I just hope it stays this way.;)

I need the pinout diagram for a AC power adapter

However you cannot just hook your meter to +12V and ground as the power supply remains in standby. You have to draw from the 5V pins at the top labeled 5Vsb. I did this by shorting the 2 pins with a resistor between 39 and 1220 ohms. I did not try any other values as these were the first 2 I found in my junk pile. Once current is being drawn on the 5V connection the 12V is then turned on. I measured 12.3V with less than 1 mV AC ripple.
I purchased my power supply for $1. I needed something to power my mini cooler when not plugged into my van. I cut the multi pin plug off, soldered an 82 ohm resistor across the red and blue, a cigarette lighter socket onto the yellow (+12V) and black (ground), taped it up and now I have a very regulated power source for my fridge.
