Poor connection strength

Sometimes you will get a false low signal strength indication, but here's something to try anyways.
Imagine if we lived in a society where all TV signals came in on the same channels.
If you are watching channel 11, but 3 other tv stations are broadcasting along with the one you want to watch, it takes a lot more effort to get the information you want from the one station you are trying to watch.
So lets say you and your tv station strike up a deal, and they move to channel 6...and nobody else in the area is on channel 6...great, now you can watch your program effortlessly.

Wireless can be like that, and most routers are factory configured to channel 11.
Look in your router manual or pdf guide or whatever instructions you have for it, and change the wireless channel.
I have found in the past that you can go from poor signal with frequent disconnects, to full signal strength at the highest speed and no disconnects, just by choosing a better channel (and yes, I usually pick 6 first, and only try others if necessary).

Have install netgear range booster

This can occur when the wireless adapter has trouble connecting to the wireless router.
It may not get an IP address from the router or the wireless adapter encryption setting didn't get an the encryption authentication from the router.
In this case right click on the wireless adapter on the Task bar and click Repair. This will make the router re-issue an IP address and authenticate the adapter's encryption setting.

Bcoz the Xbox wireless adapter comes with a pre-built in drivers....
but other brand wireless adapter donot comes with a built in drivers, you need to install the drivers using a driver cd....But Xbox do not allow driver cd's to be installed on it... so you will not be able to use ordinary wireless adapter instead of Xbox wifi adapter...

My Netgear wireless WPN111 keeps disconnecting me

Are you sure the problem is between your USB adapter and your router? I've had similar issues with my connection but the problem was with the router itself. I've downloaded a new version of the router firmware and everything has been fine since the upgrade.

I am running Windows Vista

Hello,

Ventilation is the problem of your netgear wireless adapter losing signal when it gets hot, you will need to get a good place that the ventilation is cool and cold enough to help cool the adapter.

I work in an ISP company, anytime the our air conditionig in the server room breaks down, we experience bad internet services because the internet will either be very slow or not going at all, ll we use to do is to makesure the server i protected by getting a a standing fan standby near the server incse of the ac failure.

So, your case is very glaring to me that, the ventilation is the problem, you will need to get a cool or cold environment to work with your adapter, with this, it will never get hot and lose signal.

Take care.
