I have a Netgear DG834G

DHCP SERVER in Router and DHCP server in Wireless Conflicting - Set WI Fi DHCP router leases to say 192.168.0.10 to 192.168.0.100 and default gateway as 192.168.0.1 and on the router set the router's ip address to 192.168.0.1 make the Wi Fi router address 192,168.0.2 . Set in the router the DHCP address leases to 192.168.0.101 - 192.168.0.254 and default gateway 192.168.0.1 or deactivate one of the dhcp servers and rely on one dhcp server like the routers and then deactivate the wi fi's dhcp server.

No installation CD

Lost or Unable to use Router Configuration CD Problem: var js_3;function initPsDisplay(){js_3 = new PsDisplay({"info":{"controller_name":"PsDisplay","name":"PsDisplay_3","type":"FormField","w_id":3},"attrs":{"label":"","tabindex":"","field_name":"description","cf_id":"","table":"answers","highlight":0},"js":null});js_3.init();}YAHOO.util.Event.onDOMReady(initPsDisplay);
NETGEAR does not replace lost or broken CDs because the Smart Wizard installation and configuration utility on the CD is already built into your router management software. There is no need to download anything to replace the CD - everything you need is in your router. This is true even if:
  • the CD that shipped with the router has been lost or cannot be read, or
  • errors occur when running the configuration program, or
  • the router is not connected to a computer using the Windows operating system.

Workaround: var js_4;function initPsDisplay(){js_4 = new PsDisplay({"info":{"controller_name":"PsDisplay","name":"PsDisplay_4","type":"FormField","w_id":4},"attrs":{"label":"","tabindex":"","field_name":"solution","cf_id":"","table":"answers","highlight":0},"js":null});js_4.init();}YAHOO.util.Event.onDOMReady(initPsDisplay);
To access the Smart Wizard installation and configuration program on your router:
  1. Connect your router to a computer by plugging one end of an Ethernet Cable into any of the four LAN ports on the back of your router.
  2. Log in to your NETGEAR router by browsing to http://www.routerlogin.net or http://www.routerlogin.com. Enter the username (admin) and password. By default, the password is password or 1234 unless it has already been changed.
  3. To install your router, simply click on the "Setup Wizard" link at the top of the left-hand navigation menu once you are logged into your router.
A video walk-through of installing and configuring your router using the Smart Wizard is available at http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12873.

Router not hooked up properly??

Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Click Here for more information about the routers and network

Hi,

Follow the steps to reconfigure the router:

1. Connect the cable/phone line coming from Internet Service Provider to the WAN port of the router(isolated port).
2. Connect the computer to the router using any one of the 4 available ports.
3. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
4. Access the router usually by typing 'http://192.168.0.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
5. Login to the router (username = admin password = password unless you have changed it).
6. Click 'setup wizard'(at the top of list) from left menu.
7. Select yes and click next.
8. It should give you a "PPPoA Detected" and then click next.
9. Enter the login and password of ISP click apply.
10. Once the settings are updated click on 'router Status' and click on 'connection status' button(at the bottom of the page).
11. Click on connect button.
12. Connecting to server should show 'connected'.
13. If you receive 'CHAP authentication failed', close the 'connection status' window and click on 'Basic settings'. Check the login and password for ISP and apply the setting again.
14. Open up another browser window and try to access internet.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Installation CD

Netgear lists these items to check.

http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/N101234.asp

There is not really a driver needed, you just need to log into the router and adjust the appropriate settings.
See the installation and setup guides on Netgear's sight.

If you give me the link you are attempting to download, I'll help get you the file.

No wireless connection

The problem maybe that, you need to set up the router first via an RJ45 cable and enable wireless connections, as you already have said, but probably left the cable connected. You need to then unplug your RJ45 cable from the laptop and router as you cannot connect both wirelessly and wired at the same time, as the router is trying to give the same IP address to two different connections. Your laptop should be wireless enabled(check in the device manager, as it maybe dissabled, as some manufacturers do by default.) Do not have your router WEP or WPA encrypted until you have set it up. Your laptop should also find your connection and probably others in your neighbourhood as it should auto find other connections. Right click on wireless connections in your connections folder and see if it has found your connection then click on connect. Hope this helps

Cannot access the internet after installing new NetGear router.

you need to change the IP address of the router. Plug just the router into the computer. Open Internet Explorer and go to 192.168.1.1. user: admin password:password. On the main page it allows you to change the LAN IP. Make it 192.168.2.1. Now unplug everything and rewire it correctly. This should fix the issue. Verizon uses 192.168.1.1 for the modem well so does Netgear and this causes the network to not function. So changing the IP of the router should fix this issue and has worked for me many times that I have done that set up.

At the bottom right hand corner of your screen, you have a wireless conenction icon. right click and view available wireless network...if you see your network there. connect to that network, if secured, then call netgear to verfiy what is your network key. if it is unsecure then you can log on right away.
