Their is software that you can buy to recover lost data on camera.

usually it will go back and show the time once you actually start recording. If that is not the case then you should format the storage folder on the device to ensure it was properly deleted.

may i know what is the exact model of your camcorder??

Once this camera is connected to your computer (with the USB cable) it shows up in Windows explorer just like a hard drive. The movies you've taken should appear there in folders and you should be able to drag and drop to copy the folders to your computer.

You are not supposed to delete files into your camera HDD using computer, You should use the camera menu, as reccomended by manual

If you received heavy discounting or the item was a return your retail will have taken the missing software into account when offering for sale. If that is the case you can download a trial from Cyberlink and buy the full version direct via their website.

Along with supplying power many camcorder batteries exchange data with the camcorder. If this data is not read by the camcorder it will power up but give you a power error message.
Quite often the problem is caused by a foreign material on the contacts. Try cleaning the contacts on the battery and the camcorder with alcohol and a Q tip.

Try to re formatt the hard drive.
