JVC Everio 25x/20GB Hard Disk Drive Camcorder - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Hdd error on cam, wht to do?
If you are unable to reformat the hard drive using the camera, and the USB drive is not showing up on your PC, there may be an issue with the hard drive itself. You could try using a different USB cable or a different computer to see if the USB drive shows up. If the issue persists, you may need to replace the hard drive.
Before replacing the hard drive, you could try resetting the camera to its factory settings to see if this resolves the issue. You can usually find instructions for how to do this in the user manual for your camera.
If none of these steps work, you may need to contact the manufacturer or a professional repair service for assistance.

Changing shooting size to 320x240 on jvc everio hard disk drive
The everio series uses image quality setting for resolution. The lowest setting is economy so try it in that setting. If the images is still to large then this means the everio can't shoot any lower so you would have to edit it. A quicker solution I think for You tube posting is get a low end camcorder the the flip or one that shoots the video on a media card. These are lower resolution cameras and run around a hundred.

Can i use other braqnds of memory cards in the camcorder?
Yes. You can use any brand of memory card, as long as it's the correct type. Personally, I'd stick with the major brands, but I use several different brands with my several cameras and none of them have ever caused any problems.

How do i download my video camera to my computer
The camcorder has an extirely separate storage compartments functioning as an entity of its own. Capture the pictures or videos to be stored on the cameras builtin hard disk. Once the shoots acquired are ready to be transmitted into the computer require USB cables provided with the camera at acquisition. An unavailble USb cable is acquirable from retail to achieve the link for transfer to take place. Plugging the camera to the computer with cables provided should produce transfer results. The computer always request to transfer what has been acquire in the cameras disk. A permittion response usually a click of button would require naming the photos or videos about to be imported into the computer. provide a name to the transfer media and also choose from the pop up menu automatically displayed an area on the computer. For example, the computers pictures or briefcase allows to store similar files easily retrievable with computers that have several data files or disk storage media.

On the camera there is a place where it looks like
there is no volume control on the camera, it is pre set at a relatively low volume. The only way to hear better is to plug it into yout computer or tv and use the volume control on them.

If they're saved to the HDD then you should be able to access them via your computer using the Power Cinema software for videos. Use google picassa 3 (free download) to extract your pics.
If items have been saved to the micro SD card...put this card into an adapter and put it directly into your pc.
Otherwise....send it to a dealer!

Are you saving to the micro SD card or to the HDD? You need to go into your menu options to ensure that you are saving to the HDD automatically. Sometimes I used to save to the SD for pics and the HDD for video (set up in the menu). Maybe you are deleting the HDD files but automatically recording to the full SD card?! Check

I have a Hard Disk
Install google picassa3 (which is free software from google)....use this for all your pics...it's really easy to use and allows you to email pics instantly as it prepares the files for email (quickly).
Videos.....try and download JVC everio Power Cinema software which came originally with the camera - or source it online. I have a problem with mine at the moment, as it will write the video files to DVD but not the sound.

JVC everio 20gb HDD will only show a blank white
Sounds like a bad lcd panel. Does the camera show a picture when connected to the tv? If it has a picture on the tv and not on the camera itself its definitely gonna be in the lcd panel or lcd panel cable area, and yes it can be fixed and worth it. I hope this helps
