I'm trying to update my sound card

you have to initiate the open usb on the device. If you are using the device to transfer files from its own memory to your computer, you press menu, then scroll down to usb open/close etc. the manual has all the info on page 44

Look on the front of the CD tray for a little hole... push the end of a paper clip in the hole and the tray should open.

That looks like the same kind I have. They have a hard disk inside. You can try what I sometime do with laptops. Lift it up a few inches on one side, and let it drop on the table. Sometimes that helps. Do not rop it to high though!! only enough to kinda shake the harddrive a bit.

Such a wide question, with such little detail, it will be very difficult to provide a good answer to your question without knowing anything.

If you are using a computer with your tascam? what tascam? brand and model please.

Then the computer or the program settings are not configured properly and its not recording your voice.

This product is expensive and faulty. When the only help you get is an excuse, you know you have bought the wrong brand name. Sorry friend, I did the same and received the same bogus explanation. Basically you and I threw 500 bucks out the door. True Shame. That should be the name of their next model. Ha. Except it isn't funny.

Try going to pages 25 and 26 and looking in history to see the last few actions performed. Try undoing actions and powering down and then back up according to the manual. I don't know if this will help or not but it might point you in the right direction. There is a support section at the site address I mentioned.

if your only getting signal form one side, your tracks are probably recorded in mono and not stereo, make sure the tracks you have are recorded in stereo, that may have to do with the problem

open the usb port on your dp-01 by going to "disk" in the "menu" select "usb opn/clse" press enter twice.

if your pc is connected to ur dp-01 it should reconize it, open the files by going into my computer as you would with a memory stick or card.

You need a PS-1225 power adapter. According to them you should use only that power supply. It has +12 volts out at 2.5 amps. The center pin is + and the outside shaft is negative. It is 100 to 120 VAC at 15 watts power consumption. You may be able to use the supply for the newer DP-02. The 01 is discontinued. If you decide to make one yourself, make sure the specs are exactly the same and the polarity is correct and the plug size is perfect.

Turn on the effect for the appropriate input or turn on the reverb. For the reverb you must turn up at least one tracks (the track you are using) effects send together with the Master effects return.
