The motor on our Nytone CV-350 is shot. Should I

It depends on the age and condition of the rest of the vacuum and accessories. Check out the hose and power nozzle especially. If these look well worn, replace the unit. If it's a no more than years old, I'd simply replace the motor. Again, it depends on the condition, or expected "life" of the other components.

Breaker keeps tripping

If you can unplug the central vac and plug it into a different outlet that you know is on a different breaker and test it out to see if it trips the breaker,or temporarily rewire the central vac to a different power supply.Make sure the breaker is the correct amperage for the central vac, last read the instructions to see if you need a dedicated circuit breaker, you might have to many accessories plugged into that outlet.

The baseboard installed automatic dustpan for my vacuum has broken. Not only do I miss the dustpan, but now I don't get good suction with my hose. Replacing the dustpan doesn't appear to be as simpl

I am assuming this is a built-in system so it sounds like your tubing is blocked. The guys who do furnace cleaning have also cleaned out my tubing so if you have not had your furnace ducts cleaned in a few years you can get them to come in and do everything. Or if you know an electrician with a metal snake you could borrow that and stuff it down the tube to the vacuum - disconnect the vacuum power first.

I have a 4 yr old vx6000c central vac that constantly blows house breaker

This unit requires a 15AMP 120 VOLT dedicated circuit. If there are other appliances or items on this central vacuum circuit, this could overload the circuit causing it to pop. The other issue that could be occurring is that the central vacuum is on a GFI circuit or ARC fault circuit. Central Vacuum Units are not designed to run on these types of electrical circuits. 1996 Jeep Cherokee interior lights do not shut off

It's very likely that you left the interior switch in the on position. There are usually 3 positions the switch can be in "OFF, ON , and AUTO. The switch should be in "AUTO" so that the interior light will turn off when you close the door.

When removing the vacum hose

This indicates that something has become lodged in the hose wall plate opening. Most central vacuum systems turn on automatically when the hose is inserted into the opening. Look carefully at the edge of the opening and see if you can locate some foreign object that is managing to mimic an inserted hose. Most systems rely on a metal ring on the hose; that when inserted into the opening, completes a low voltage circuit in the opening that "signals" the vacuum to turn on. You may have better luck if you have more than one such hose connector - you will be able to compare the two to see if something doesn't belong.

It is possible that one of the wires on the wall plate has broken free, and is touching the other wire - simulating an inserted vac hose. This doesn't happen often - especially when the wires are behind a protective surface such as wall board, etc. Inspect these wires where ever visible - including at the vacuum unit itself. If unable to find the source of the problem, you should contact an electrician or a central vacuum installation & repair contractor.

I hope this helps & good luck!
