I have a solis crema sl-70 whose portafilter leaks

You may just need a new grouphead gasket. This is a rubber ring that fits in the space between the outside of the grouphead and the interior area that houses the dispersion screen. If it's worn or dried out, the pf may not be sealing properly (which would cause the leaking and instability)
The portafilter (pf) handle should line up with a pre-printed indicator line on the group head when it's "locked" in. If you're looking at the machine straight on, and the far side is "12" on a clock face, the handle should be at 6 or 5 o' clock. The pf should "ease" in to the grouphead, not stop with a hard feeling.
The problem might be with the portafilter "ears", or the metal tines that wedge into the grouphead. If they're excessively worn, the pf might not be secured snugly enough to make a seal. A new pf will solve this.
So, first, try a new gasket. Then a new portafilter. Then a new machine :)

The water light is staying

Hi. check to see if the float in the water tank is not upside down. If thats ok, then try removing the water tank, and place a magnet where the float sits, and see if that tells the machine it has water. If it doesn't, then you have a faulty level sencor. Dazza REPAIRER

Hi, I have the Solis Crema SL 70 Espresso Machine.

Hello,

Normally if you are getting steam, but just not coming out much is a couple areas it could be. Sometimes it gets restrictions from calcium build up, and then will not build at much. Like a garden hose that someone is stepping on for example. Now if the machine is cleaned really good, including using a needle (not wood) to clean out the holes at end of wand and this still does this, then next thing it normally could be is a thermostat. The machine has 4 of them.

1. Your heating element might be bad. Check it with an ohms meter. The terminals should read 12 to 16 ohms. If no reading, replace the boiler. If the boiler is good then the center thermostat is bad. Its a 138C thermostat. The thermostat in the back is a 92C brew thermostat. The front one is a steam 127C and the one on the left side is a 156 high limit thermostat. The center thermostat is a screw in thermostat and holds the others in. Take a picture of the wiring before disassemble. To get the top off there is a screw in the top center back. Remove, then put your hands on the top side of the machine and with your fingers push the top forward.l would concentrate on steam 127c thermostat.

I think a lot of it has to do with being decaled and cleaned. But if it was a quick fix as you said from the repair guy, most likely he replace one of the thermostat which sense your having a steam issue, the one is called 127C. I hope this helps some, but please be careful, if you try and do yourself, take pictures of inside to put back the same, and please make sure machine is unplugged. Mike from fixya.

Hi
The first thing you should do is turn on the power, then the steam switch and see if you get any heat. If you do, then your brew thermostat is bad and needs to be replaced. If you still don't get any heat, there are a couple of things that might be wrong. 1. Your heating element might be bad. Check it with an ohms meter. The terminals should read 12 to 16 ohms. Hi
You valve is out of adjustment. Everybody thinks that the valves opens to allow water or steam through. It doesn't. When you twist the valve it pushes a needle to open to allow water/steam through. When you close the valve it allows the needle to seat, but if you keep twisting the knob it gets out of adjustment. It just moves the valve farther from the needle.
First unplug the machine. Remove the water tank. Next remove the screw in the top back of the machine. Push the top forward with your fingers. This unlocks the top and it can be placed behind the machine with the wire connected. Next rotate the steam knob counter clockwise till it stops. Inside next to the micro switch there is a brown cam. On the backside of the cam is the #2 Allen screw. Loosen this screw and the rotate the cam counter clockwise until it stops. Push it to the left as far as you can (it should touch the screw on the left), then tighten the allen screw. This is the proper adjustment. Reinstall the top. There is a grove in the top that the face fits into. Gently push the top back and the face will go with it. Then put the screw in the back and your done.

Hi
You might just need a new thermostat. There are 4 on that machine, the one you want is at the 12:00 position. Its a 92c. You might also need to descale the boiler. If they get too much scale on the elements they loose effectiveness.

Steam knob keeps turning around-and no steam

Sounds like you have a striped knob and your valve is frozen. You will have to replace your steam manifold and valve.
