My moniter has a black

this is so common in lcd monitors, its the power suply board.... most likely a capacitor.. so type a model# into google following the words "power suply" it will probably be close to $50-$60... thats better than buying a new one

The monitor comes up right away but as it warms up

it may be the refresh rate. set it to 60.

to do that, right click on the desktop and then properties, go to display and change the refresh rate

I have a proview pl2230wdb, was working fine

grybicki, Sounds like "switch-mode-power-supply/ccfl inverter supply" problem. Is pl2230wdb "black" or is it "blank n black". Yes, it can be both or just "black". Do some reading in my fixya profile to understand your options that you have open to you. Your ccfl back-lit lcd display no different than any other brand in it's basic design and operation. Use warranty if possible! (you didn't state date of manufacture) Could be a failed solder joint (open circuit) or bad capacitors on "smps/inverter" board. First, do a lot of reading before making decision on fixing or trading up. Good luck with repair. Let us know what you will do after you do some reading. Reading is free!!! 12fixlouie

Need new power cord

Elizabeth, I poked around last night but couldn?t find an absolute answer to your question so I didn?t post an answer. Since no one else has answered it I?ll share my best guess. Your monitor probably uses a standard 110v power cable. Take a look at your power socket on the monitor and compare it to this picture on Ebay and chances are good the socket end will match your monitor. http://cgi.ebay.com/Computer-power-cords-110V-10A-IEC-C-13-lot-of-10_W0QQitemZ190083846330QQihZ009QQcategoryZ45342QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Your video cable may be a little trickier. Assuming your monitor and your computer video card both have standard 15 pin VGA sockets (?D? shaped connector about 1? long with three rows of little holes) this cable listed on Ebay or one like it will work for you. http://cgi.ebay.com/6FT-VGA-SVGA-COMPUTER-MONITOR-CABLE-HIGH-QUALITY-LCD_W0QQitemZ280083462294QQihZ018QQcategoryZ41999QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem If these don?t match the connector ends on your monitor let us know, and as always please don?t forget to rate this posting.

Unclear picture

1. try using "degauss" on the screen menu. 2. move away all other electronic devices from the screen. 3. if this doesnt help, you can try the following, but only if you know your way in electronics, and have experiance with welding, otherwise, this is very risky: unplug screen from all cables for a couple of days, then open it and check all weldings, if there are cracked ones, reweld them. again, do it only if you know your way around this, otherwize you will ruin the screen, and worse.

Proview monitor, model 900P, product PL913s. I have it hooked up to computer and to power source, but can't get monitor to turn on. Something more needed beside the "power" button on right?

  1. Check the power cable: Make sure the power cable is properly connected to the monitor and to the power source.
  2. Check the video cable: Make sure the video cable is properly connected to the computer and to the monitor.
  3. Check the computer settings: Make sure the computer is set to the correct display settings for the monitor. You can typically do this by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting "Display settings."
  4. Check the power source: Make sure the power source is working and that there is no problem with the outlet or power cord.
  5. Check the power button: Make sure the power button on the right side of the monitor is not stuck and is functioning properly.
  6. Try a different cable or computer: If possible, try connecting the monitor to a different computer or cable to see if the issue is with the computer or cable.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be a problem with the monitor itself

Model 2200W Proview LCD Monitor - How do I connect it to HP Laptop?

Since you don't provide the laptop model, I assume your PC has at least a 15 Pin VGA connector. You will need a 15 pin male VGA to 15 pin male VGA cable, just plug it at the laptop and the monitor, that should do. If your laptop has also an HDMI or DVI or Display Port, you will need a proper cable or adapter.
