ASUS K8N-DL Motherboard Questions & Answers
K8N mortheboard no signal screen
HI,
In this new tower you are swttching to, does it have it's own power supply? And if so, what are the amps, and what are the amps on your old power supply? I have the K8N, and it needs at least 450W to run decent. Let me know?

ASUS K8N-DL Dual Opteron MB
Sounds to me like you have a bad board/socket 2. Is there a setting in the BIOS to enable the second socket? Only use 1 stick of known good RAM till ya get the problem solved.
K8n-dl mb does not post.
The beep beep code is an audible code telling you that you have no Ram installed.
You cannot run this board without system ram.
Fit some system ram and connect a video card and a drive. Make sure both cpu's are fitted and try again.
If it still beeps, note the length and number of beeps and go to the ASUS website. You can find the audible codes in the support section under bios fault codes..
Can you run a pci-e 2.0 video card in a pci-e 16x slot?
Even if it works (hard to tell) the output will be limited by the speed of your pci-e 1.0 bus, so the extra power you are paying for won't be noticed. It would be better to get a card designed for your hardware.
Good luck
I am unable to turn on ide single drive
You need to turn the raid back on and go into the raid utility. Once in the raid utility u should see a function to Break or Delete the raid group. Do this and then the drive should revert to a non-member disk and therefore a single drive. Once this is done u can turn the raid off again.
SATA Configuration
They are independent sata configurations so you should be able to. Sounds like fun. Good luck.
Asus K8N-dl - second processor present but not running...
Hi, Mistyman here. All Asus mother boards that have dual channel RAM slot must have equal ram in each slot. In most cases the paired slots are matched by color for easy ID, some are identified by a printed ID on the mother board. With your board you will have to have run all of your RAM for the one CPU. If you have only one stick this must be in slot one. If you are using two sticks then utilise the dual chanel system that ASUS have and use A1 & A3.
To activate the second CPU you will need to install matching sticks of RAM in the B slots. both cpu's will need to have the value of RAM to work together properly.
CPU one = slot A for RAM
CPU two = Slot B for RAM.
Goodluck, the ASUS boards are a value product.
