Still looking??. Have a pci/pnp 586, gently yanked off a a MB with a hobbyknife.Seems like a working chip, pins kinda short now but all are intact

Check the connections and then check the drive manufacturers website for the latest drivers. It is unusual for a CD to lose drivers so you may have a Virus problem or a failing CD drive.One thing that may be causing the problem is if you have just fitted the drive and didn't set the Slave or Master jumper correctly. This will only apply if you have IDE drives of course.

Sounds like the LAN card is not enabled, or is missing the drivers. Check both Network Connections under Control Panel to enable by right clicking, and Device Manager for installing drivers.

If you visit your motherboard manufacturer's website, you should be able to download drivers for the motherboard and the specific operating system you are using.

Please note that these motherboards appear to support only Win98/Win Me/Win 2000/Win NT/Win XP and possibly also some Linux Distros (Operating Systems). The term "Drivers" is meaningless without associating it with an Operating System and a specific item of Hardware. There is no such thing as just " Drivers". The Driver does not physically control the Motherboard's Devices. The Operating System and (to a lesser extent) the BIOS do that. What the Driver does (just like a human interpreter for a guest who speaks a different language from his host), is to introduce the Device to the Operating System and help them to communicate with each other, with the Driver taking instructions from both and passing it back and forth between them. So when one mentions Drivers, one must also mention the Operating System it will be talking to. In order for that to be possible, the two must share a common language. If they do not, then the role of 'interpreter' is impossible, because, then neither the Driver nor the Device will be able to understand what the Operating System is saying and vice versa. Your board will only support cards with an AGP slot so, the card you mentioned will not work.
