Essick D46720 water overflows from water holding well
If the water overflows from the water holding well in your Essick D46720 humidifier, there could be a few possible reasons:
- Faulty Float Valve: The float valve regulates the water level in the holding well. If it gets stuck or fails to function properly, it can cause the water to overflow. You can try cleaning the float valve and make sure it moves freely.
- Clogged Water Inlet: Check the water inlet on the bottom of the humidifier. If it is clogged with mineral deposits or other debris, it can prevent the water from flowing into the holding well at the proper rate.
- Broken Water Tank: If the water tank is cracked or damaged, it can cause water to leak out of the holding well and overflow.
- Incorrect Water Level: If you are filling the humidifier beyond the recommended water level, it can cause the water to overflow.
To fix the issue, try the following steps:
- Turn off and unplug the humidifier.
- Remove the water tank and check for cracks or damages.
- Clean the float valve and make sure it moves freely.
- Check the water inlet for any clogs or debris.
- Make sure you are filling the humidifier with the correct amount of water, as recommended in the user manual.
- Plug in the humidifier and turn it on to see if the issue is resolved.
If the problem persists, you may need to contact the manufacturer for further assistance or consider replacing the humidifier.

Filled humidifier press on and shuts off
Hi,
please switch power outlets before attempting to power the humidifier again. Please double check that you've filled the humidifier as instructed and chosen the lowest setting at first to start. If the issue persists and the device is more than a few years old, you can request repair or replacement assistance from qvc next to help overcome this issue.
Thank you.
