I want to clean the white gritty minerals from the fly wheel inside the humidifier. I took the three screws out but the plastic wheel will not move. I'm afraid to force it...might crack or break.

If you've been using tap water, then you likely have hard water deposits (scale) on the heating element, which will eventually cause it to stop working. Try cleaning it with an overnight vinegar soak, or whatever is suggested in the manual if you have one. Once most of the deposits are gone, it shold work again. In the future, this will not happen if you use distilled (not to be confused with filtered) water. Good luck!

We have had a separate make for years and just use tap with no problems.It leaves a water mark on the water holder but it cleans off.If you have a water filter already on your tap or a Brita type container with a filter,feel free to use that too.Either way,it will not hurt the humidifier. If it will plug into standard wall socket it is 110 volts. 240 volt plug is different

Suspect that you may need to run white vingar through it and clear the atomizer. You should see mist all the time even when the humidity level is reached.

How many watts does Kaz Steam Vaporizer Safeguard Model 76 use???? I think it's using a lot of electricity. Anyone with clarity please?
