You'll have to do a factory reset on the router.
Press and hold the RESET button on the back of the unit for approximately 15 seconds.
This will remove all of your setting on your router and return it to factory default.
You'll have to re-do the configuration through the web interface at: http://192.168.0.1/

I have a DI-524, there is a reset hole on the back. Press a straightened paper clip in it.

Then go to the D-Link web sit and find instructions for your router.
(sorry I won't walk you through that, it's easy enough)

The WEP encryption key is in your router's wireless settings. Log into your router and got to the wireless settings, you will need to get the SSID and the WEP key. Then go to your computer/laptop's wireless card and configure it with the router's SSID and WEP key, so it will then connect to the wireless router and the Internet.

D-LINK recommends to _NOT_ try to upgrade the firmware, unless you have a specific problem that has been addressed by the newer firmware.

So, do _NOT_ try to do any upgrade.

If you have the manual, or remember how to set the router up, you can use a paper clip to push the reset button on the back of the router and start from scratch. If not, you should be able to search and find the manual online, which will tell you how to set it up, and what the default password is.

Please reset the router in that case and login into the router setup page.

This will ask you for a username and password which is Admin and password is password

1.Again select the wireless settings and network name.

2.Save the settings .

3.Restart the computer and router as well.

open any browser and type the default gateway address then log in to your modem set up by typing the current password there is a option maintainence or similar point to administration you can enter your new pasword and save settings by clicking on the button below it

turn it off at the wall for over 30 seconds then there should be a reset button on the back.

These are the 2 kinds of security enabled for wireless routers.
These keys will be stored in the router interface.
If you open the router interface, you can find the key.

For opening the router interface u need to type the ip address of your router in the address bar of your web browser.(mozilla firefox preferred)
It will open the interface of your router.
You will need to login to the router before you can make any changes.(certain routers comes with the login password that is provided in the user manual of router)

Dlink router default ip address is 192.168.0.1

Try reseting the D-Link back to the default settings by -
Power up the router and press and hole the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router for 5 secs. until thr LEDs flash.
The D-Link configuration URL is http://192.168.0.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = blank (just press Enter)
You can now change the password and set up the wireless settings.

Each router has its own unique PIN. The PIN will be asked only once for setting up your router.

You can find the unique PIN behind the router written on a sticker which states the model number, serial number and the pin number.

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Click on wireless then wireless security Enable WEP then enter new password save settings and restart router .Then you can connect wireless with new password. Try resetting your surge protector if there is one. If that doesn't work try a different outlet. If that still doesn't work then the problem is either in the units transformer or in the router itself. If it's in the transformer you should be able to find a replacement at any Best Buy or Walmart. However, if it's in the router, about your only real option is replacement.

If you dont have any lights on the router the power supply is broken. You can try to use the power supply with other units which are using 5 volt to see if it is working.

If you have forgotten your router's password, please follow the instructions below to resolve your issue.

The router can be set to factory default by pressing the Reset button of the router and resetting through the router's web-based setup page. Pressing the Reset button on the back of the router for 30 seconds will reset your router to its factory default settings. Any settings on the router will be erased and the router's IP address will become "192.168.1.1," the username is still blank, and the password will be "admin."
