Try printing a light stripes test page (Troubleshooting, print quality problems, troubleshooting print quality page).
If you do not appear to have many missing jets but the colours are all just wrong it may be that the ink has gone stale. Run a couple of head cleans and you should see the colours start to improve. If it is getting better, all you can do is keep running head cleans until you have replenished all the ink in the printhead well. This problem is common in situations where a lot of black and white printing is done, with very little colour. Alternatively, it could be that your wiper/cleaning blade is not cleaning the head properlyand is smearing the different coloured inks across the head, or possibly that yourprinthead is leaking colours but I think the first solution should solve your problem. Hope this helps.
You need to replace the counter chip that's in the maintenance roller assembly. You can find those at e-bay. Just make sure that there is enough oil at the roller and the blade is in good contition or else the ink wil stick on the drum and you'll have print quality problems
AC power supplied by power sources such as uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) or DC-to-AC inverter systems may not supply correct voltage to properly power up the printer. Likewise, other devices sharing the same AC circuit can cause AC voltage sags that cause the printer to fail its AC heater PEST tests (Print Engine Self Test). The printer may produce the following heater errors:
37,005.41: PEST - Printhead Reservoir 1 disconnect. Reservoir 1 is not drawing
the expected power from the supply.
If the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and you still get this error, the Printhead is bad and should be replaced.
If you
This fault code indicates a problem with the process control system. The machine cannot successfully home the transfix mechanism.
Check for obstructions around the printhead. Look for ink shards in the gears of the tilt drive. Check the printhead wiring harness to make sure it is not blocking the printhead movement (left/right & front/back). Remove the waste ink tray and look for ink build-up.
Check the process drive gears for damage. Ensure the gears are correctly aligned and homed.
Check the nose cone alignment on the X-Axis motor. Is the nose cone aligned with the printhead shaft (left/right movement).
When you removed the square metal block from the printhead shaft on the Left side, did you reinstall it with the "dot" in the same orientation as the diagram above it shows with a check mark?
Check for obstructions in the Wiper Assembly path.
Look for ink build-up in the wiper belt channels.
Ensure the wiper system is properly aligned
Run the Wiper Drive test to see if it passes or fails...
Run the Wiper Alignment test to see if it passes or fails...
Run the Head Maintenance Clutch test.
Check to see if the Waste Tray is overfilled.
1. Open Start menu. 2. Click on "Printers and Faxes" 3. Double-click the icon for your printer. 4.
On the menu bar, click "Printer" to open the printer menu. Click on
"Use Printer Offline" to remove the check mark. This will bring your
printer back online.
If this did not help, check the printer itself & make sure it is not set to be offline.
37,004.4x - PEST_FAULT_RESERVOIR0_HEATER_DISCONNECT
PEST - Reservoir0 Disconnect Reservoir0 is not drawing the expected power from the
supply.
1. Run the printhead Reservoir Heater test.
2. Verify printhead wiring.
Your preheater needs to be replaced.
Xerox Preheater Part # 119641980
This part will have to be replaced by a certified Xerox technician.
Hope this helps
The printer has encountered an error state without the benefit of a
code. Turn the printer off for 30 seconds, then power back on.
If the Printer Error message returns, press the i button on the
printer's front panel. The actual error or fault number should be
displayed. Note the error or message and search the knowledge base for
the error.
Also:
Based on the problem description provided, we have determined that your printer needs service.
Please turn your printer off and use one of the methods below to make arrangements for service:
Turn off the printer and open the printer back door. Use a spot light and give look inside properly. Make sure there no paper. Some time small part of the paper creates the problem. So you can do one thing after open the back door, top side etc make the printer upside down etc. So if anything inside that's will come out. After cleaning again connect it with PC and turn on. Now give a look. If you face same problem then Un-install the printer driver and software from the PC. Then restart the PC and Printer both. Now connect the Printer with PC via USB and install again the driver & software. Then try to print and let me know the result.
What has most likely happened it the tab that actuates the cover switch has broken off. What you want to do it open that cover and look around the edge where it meets up with the other cover. There will be a hole, I would say about a half inch long and about a quarter inch wide where there will be a switch. Look at the exit cover in that area and you will probably see where a tab was, and is not broken off. You normally can fix it by making a couple of small holes in the cover and epoxying a paper clip in that area as a new switch actuator. You have to break or cut the paper clip to the proper length and so you have 2 ends to pop through the cover and epoxy it to.
That can be one of two things. 1. There is a drum encoder on the end of the drum motor.that picks up silicon lubricant from the maintenance kit roller. Normally removing it and cleaning it will resolve the issue, sometimes it needs replaced. 2. There is a print head block that can become dirty and not allow the print head to get into the proper printing position, but that most likely would cause an 07,10.043 code and shut down. I really suspect a dirty/contaminated encoder. The encoder is on the right side of the machine looking from the front, once you locate the drum shaft you will see it. Sort of flush it out with alcohol and allow it to dry, put it back in and you should resolve your problem. If not let me know. If you need to order one the part number with diagram is on Xerox.com, under downloads and documentation, there is an online parts list for that machine. www.xerox.com
37,004.4x - PEST_FAULT_RESERVOIR0_HEATER_DISCONNECT PEST - Reservoir 0 Disconnect Reservoir 0 is not drawing the expected power from the supply. 1. Run the printhead Reservoir Heater test. 2. Verify printhead wiring.
The 37,004.40 error means that the ink reservoir is not heating up correctly. Make sure the printer
is plugged in directly into the wall and not on a power strip and cycle the power to the machine (turn it off and back on). If
the problem continues, you probably have a bad printhead which you have to replace. For the 8400 the part number is 650-4303-00. Iteminc.com has that part in stock and ships same day. Here is a video that shows you how to replace the printhead. Hope this helps and thanks for using FixYa.
Try this PEST - Left jetstack disconnect. The left jetstack is not drawing the expected power from the supply. 1. Run the printhead Left Jetstack Heater test. 2. Verify printhead wiring.
