Repairing a TV set is actually a skilled work. If you're not sound in electronics, make sure, that you can't do it; especially to Sony sets. If the set switches ON; with audio output OK, and there is no Video, surely the fault should be with its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check that circuit for fault. To get more details,

Tv wont turn on and the stand by blinks 2 times pulse 2 times sony Trintron KV-24FS100
- Two
blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode
then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of
any of the circuits. This is the fault. There is over voltage from the voltage regulator section inside. You have to check out the reason for that. In most cased, the will be due to some loose solder terminals at this section.

My remote worked fine, but suddenly won't work
Could be the IR receiver in the TV.
Make sure nothing is in front of the TV that would block the IR from receiving commands from the remote, I've seen customers put VHS tapes on the front of their TV that caused the remote to not to work.
Good luck

My sony triniton tv won't turn on. The standby red
HI. this may be a fly back situation. this is a transformer that is located on the power board section of your set. This device stores and, distributes the necessary AC current needed for proper CRT performance. There is also a horizontal deflection chip that will shut off the transformer if it becomes unstable as well.
I recommend checking the Horizontal deflection chip for damage. if this chip is in good condition, replace the HV Fly back transformer.

Vertically short picture
There is a bad capacitor in the vertical circuit. Look for caps in the same circuit and either check or change them. If hte vertical IC is listed as IC301 for example, the caps in the same circuit will be marked C3xx. These are circuit designations that are printed on the board. Look for caps with values of either 47ufd or 100ufd. These are the most common ones to fail.
