Will not erease cd-rw

The fault is so much complicated to check. Is a very skilled work indeed. The optical unit, as well as its control circuit should be checked. Actually, this is not user repairable one. Contact the authorised service center for philips at your town.

Recently purchased used CDR 770.

Hi, these recorders will only use discs sold as "Music CD recordables". The midcode on them tells the recorder it is permitted to use this media. Computer CD-R's do not have this in the midcode. When they were marketed, the Music industry gets a portion of the profit to "make-up for lost sales" due to the set-top recorders being easier for the average Joe to use. They must say "Music CD-R" or the set top recorder will not use them. Memorex was the last ones still in the market last I checked. I have a Philips CDR 785, so I do know from experience.

On my philips cdr 770, the sound is perfect from

yes i think you have a europeon version and it will do this unless it can recognise a copyright ,best advice here is use a computer to make your cds ,and if this is a problem as with the windows 11 then use an old computer with windows 98 on and the old media player or creative sound program their is always a way to beat the system for copyrights ,i have even played a CD before now on the computer and then used audio jack to record it as a mp3 ,because i could not get windows to copy it for me or copy to hard drive .Now i dont bother for the car as iam fed up with supplying the local junkies with their next fix so i just use the old radio cassete
