How do you finalize a cd
With the CD stopped press FINALIZE. The display will show FINALIZE CD and PRESS RECORD.
Do as instructed. It will say XX XX FINAL and will count down the time remaining to finish the finalization process.
No power whatever
Check voltage output of the power supply.
- If below the indicated voltage on the output
terminals, replace the capacitors across the output terminals with the
same specifications.
- If there's no voltage output at all and the fuse is
intact, replace the 8-pin power regulator IC with same specifications..
It is usually DH321 IC.
What cd's to use
when i first got my phillips unit, i found that i could use olympic brand computer cd's (gold only, silver won't work) can't get them any more tdk digital audio for consumer are the modt reliable or phillips make one as well look at the compact disc logo should have underneath logo DIGITAL AUDIO under that RECORDABLE then below that FOR CONSUMER

• To switch off the Auto Track function you have to enter
Menu mode.
If you wish to increase track numbers manually, press
TRACK INCR(ement) on the remote control. For further
instructions see Menu mode.
ON (AUTO): The track increments are automatically taken over
from the digital source material or after 2.7
seconds silence during analog recording.
OFF (MANUAL): While recording track numbers can be
incremented manually by pressing TRACK
INCR(ement) on the remote control.
(Minimum track length is 4 sec.) (This can
also be done in Auto track ON mode.)

If you're going to ask for help you should take special care to spell the error correctly. It's only 3 letters "OPC error".
Anyway, what little I could find about it looks like it could be a firmware problem.

This has to be done by a certified technician as it is very tricky to get the laser aligned and requires special equipment.

Hi,
try tuning the unit, into the channels. if it,s recording one channel. it could be the possibility that the dvd is tuned in to the t/v incorrectly. refer to the users manual/guide.
on setting up the player to the t/v channels.

Your laser is on it's way out. You can try some service diagnostics but it's likely you need a new laser.
