There could be a number of possible reasons for 'no remote control' operation/function with these units. One of those could include the remote itself; this device may have a fault where its battery current drain level is too high, resulting in batteries going flat very quickly. That would be a bad remote design, or the remote itself is just defective.
Another possible reason for remote failure, and probably the most likely, is a faulty IRD controller circuit (IRD - infra-red detector/remote sensor); this circuit is governed by several components including a controller IC, and the IRD is usually a small encased metal block with holes to allow the receiver to detect the pulses from the R/C. Either this and/or the IC fails completely or partially, resulting in no remote function. This circuit is in the main unit - sometimes manufacturers under-design these circuits or use poorly rated components, hence the multitude of faults.
It's nice to be able to operate the unit with a remote as well as front panel buttons. However, since it is still relatively new, and you have some warranty, send it back to the store - don't bother trying to get this one fixed - as there is a chance something else could go wrong with this later on. I recommend that you go back to the store you bought this from and insist on an exchange unit of a better brand/model which DOES work properly, including remote, don't accept their offer to send it off to get it repaired - you want a working one NOW.
Fingers crossed that you eventually get a working product which satisfies you completely.

I have a SC1312 supersonic tv. The dvd will not spin nor stay in what can I do?
If the DVD on your SC1312 Supersonic TV is not spinning and does not stay in, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Check the disc compatibility: Ensure that the DVD you are trying to play is compatible with the SC1312 Supersonic TV's built-in DVD player. Some DVDs may be incompatible due to different formats or region codes. Try playing different DVDs to see if the issue persists.
- Clean the DVD and the DVD player: Inspect the surface of the DVD for any smudges, fingerprints, or scratches. Clean the DVD gently using a soft, lint-free cloth, wiping from the center outward. Additionally, use a DVD lens cleaner to clean the DVD player's lens, as dust or debris on the lens can interfere with disc playback.
- Check for physical obstructions: Carefully inspect the DVD player's disc tray for any physical obstructions, such as foreign objects or debris. Remove any obstructions that may prevent the DVD from spinning or staying in the player.
- Reset the DVD player: Power off the TV and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and power it on. This reset can sometimes resolve temporary issues with the DVD player.
- Contact Supersonic customer support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it is advisable to contact Supersonic's customer support directly. Provide them with the specific details about the problem, including the model number (SC1312), and describe the symptoms you are experiencing. They will be able to provide further assistance, including potential troubleshooting steps or arranging for a repair if necessary.
