Check solder joints in horizontal deflection circuit.

Broken wire inside or if in series a single bulb or light out. Hint: look right where they stop first.

Try resoldering the flyback transformer they develope cracks around the flybacks pins which has been known to cause that type of issue.

ALL of you have a problem in power supply/deflection board 3 capacitors open located cp150 2200uf 16volt and two 220uf 35 volt, check them first then resolder around FBT other wise order new deflection board 125.00

HV splitter and flyback are common failure items. Remove the HV lead from the HV splitter that comes from the flyback, Place that into a dry glass jar secured so it doesnt come out. Then try powering up the set if the set powers up without shutting down the splitter is bad.

No schematics are to my knowledge available for this fine thompson product---those are all right next to the flyback--a kit will include the one that removes the convergence option from the menu--one of the cp parts and a diode and filter cap are involved.got some description of what set is not doing?

It can be replaced but average is over 100 dollars---if have a cable etc box with video outputs connect them to one of the rear audio video inputs and bypass the cable fitting----even if have to pay for a box that is cheaper than fixing the fitting (better picture and sound as well).

Projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Below are more details for both items. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. If the colors are not lined up this is likely a convergence problem. You can get convergence repair kits from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com

Check the deflection board for bad or poor solder connections. Also check the ribbon connectors if they are not pluged in correctly this can cause lose of deflection. Resolder all the pinns on the FBT Flyback Transfomer

I fixed mine by cleaning the projection lenses by removing the speaker cover, then removing the button peice.
There are 2 screws on the back on both sides and I think 3 in the front that need to come out. They are an allen key type 7/64". The button peice should pull forward and drop down.
Now you should be able to see the projectors. I used q-tips and alcohol to clean the dustr off of them. (I went over them with the power on so i could see if there was any streaking.)
After the lenses have been cleaned you should go to the auto convergence function in the setup menu.

unplug your satellite or cable box for 10 mins first, then look at where your cable screws in , theres a switch there...speakers on. if not check out http://www.shopjimmy.com/ and get some help from the techs

if problem with the coax the cable company should be able to provide a box with audio/video outputs on the rear, you hook to the same on the rear of your set and bypass the problem.

Replace cp120 & cp150 on the board to the left, known as the deflection power supply.
