My RCA D52W20 52 in. Rear Projection projects a picture bigger than 52 in. it is like a 54 in. picture. It cuts off scores, scrolling stats and news on the bottom of the screen. Anyone have an idea???
Go into the menu and select picture settings and then advanced picture settings. I'm not sure on that model that you can manually change the aspect ratio from zoom to 16:9 or 4:3 ect... But select Auto Format and the TV will pre-select the correct format for viewing..... Any questions just let me know. Bill

The flyback transformer went in my RCA D527DYX1.
Does anyone have detailed instructions on how I can replace this myself?
I know what it is, but it looks like it maybe clips into place, but not sure, I don't want to damage my TV. Figured instructions would do the trick.
I am a computer engineering tech and have worked on CRT monitors, etc. So I understand high voltage safety etc. :)
Please help. :(

I have a RCA 52 inch HDTV model D52W20B when you press the power button the green power light flash about 3 or 4 times and that's it no sound no video. Everytime it flashes you can hear I guess the power supply kick on and back off. There was nothing wrong with the picture or sound before it went out. Before it went completely out you could press the power button and it would do the same thing. Wait about 30 minutes and it would come on. Now it does nothing. I would like to fix it myself since I have good soildering expertise. I think it's the main flyback on the main board loction is back left of board. I already almost have the mainboard pulled just can't figure out how to remove one wire that is on the flyback. I got the big red wire off, but there is another smaller black wire conntected to it. But just wanted a second say to make sure it's the flyback. Or what else it could be. Thanks
Just fixed it!!! Remove the back panel from the television, you will see a board where the input jacks are located. To the left you will notice a red power wire. Just up and to the right approx 7" or so you will see a [_] shaped metal shield surrounding a capacitor in the middle of it. The part # on the board is CP150. It is a green/gold 16v 2200uF capacitor. More than likely this capacitor is faulty. Run your finger over the top of the capacitor, if it is beveled rather than smooth you have a definite solution to your problem. You may need to remove the plastic piece that covers the transformer to the left of the capacitor to gain easy access. Good luck!!

While watching tv - the colors went out of alignment with each other. What could be the issue? We have turned off and turned back on after 5 min
my rca 52 in has the same problem. but seems to not auto converge . and even when i manuel converge the screen is still looks like a 3 d movie.
i have tried every thing.. and its only a year old..
On this particular model when your convergence is out of alignment, and the auto convergence is suddenly missing from the TV's menu all together, there is a easy fix.
Diode on Main Power supply, Location dl321 and fuse at Location fl231.
This problem has a high failure rate.

I have a 52 inch RCA HD Projection tv. Whenever I try to turn the tv on the green on button will come on and the tv makes a sound like it is going to come on, but the picture stays black. Then the green light turns off on its own. Then it blinks 3 times, makes the sound like it's going to come on, then turns itself off again.
It is a D52W20 model w/ a ITC222 chassis
I read a posting that said to check in the back to see if the CP150 looked ventilated/puffed out. I am not sure what that is, but I checked anyway and everything back there looks in okay, nothing is puffed up.
I also checked for cracked wires in the front, but they're in good condition as well.
Is there something else I can check for?
CP150 is a capacitor in the power supply circuit....feel top to
see if flat....change if "pooched" or swollen..................T.

We've had our RCA 52" HDTV for about 2 years and all of a sudden the Menu started popping up constantly. It will pop up over and over again. I have to hit ok and exit on the remote or the panel on the TV sometimes to get it to go away and other times it will go away on its on but pops back up again within a few seconds. Sometimes, it will do this atleast 30 times in a 5 minute period while other times I can watch the TV for an hour or more without it doing it at all. Ive tried everything I know~ unplugged the TV for a few minutes, changed batteries in the remote, and checked to make sure the buttons on the remote or the TV panel were not stuck. Any ideas at all? My warranty just happened to expire a month before this happened. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I see this a lot at the shop. the front panel buttons have become damaged. The best coarse of action is to replace the front button circuit board assembly... **** there is a temporary fix until you get the part... remove the front panel and take button circuit board out...just use remote to control the tv. This is also a way to test to see if this is the problem.. if you remove the connector to the buttons and the problem goes away then the buttons are the problem. you get get this circuit board at union electronics. You have to get the extended model number off the back usually d52w20yx1 or yx2 or yx something...not to difficult a repair

rca d52w14 no picture hit power button green light blinks three times but tv dont come on
could be power supply problem or high voltage problem. check caps in main power supply first.look for caps that have tops puffed up ususlly three or four.....

Your model doesnt have a lamp. your set has three picture tubes instead

the power light comes on but when you puch it it blinks 2 or three times then wont do anything. then you have to wait about 5-10 minutes before you can try it agian. But it never comes on. There is no sound either.

Capacitors on power supply bad.
Replace this:
2200uf 16V, 220uf 16V. Upgrade to 35V.
Located on power supply- deflection board.
