i did it by turning the phone off. then hold the voliume down button for 5 seconds then when the sony sign poped up keep tapping the back button for 8 seconds.then just start tapping all buttons exept the power buttions at once for 5 seconds. then hold them all down. not the power button. untill the phone comes on.

you may have cracked the metal connector within the charging point of the phone. it happened to my girlfriends xperia mini pro and when we sent it off they said it was unfixable. they also said it was caused by not pulling the charger out correctly. they best thing would be to send it off to the manufacturer to see what they say.
