Although A bit inconvienent this does seem to be the norm for some Kohler units. Actually a small price to pay rather than having a technician come out to replace the ATS control board. There are time delays that could be set longer to keep the unit running longer and may prevent this from happenng

change the temp sensor and re test the gen set these have a bord that senses if theirs a issue with the engine and will cut the bower to the get head so theirs no load on some mod's then when the temp reaches a higher point they shut down. re-post is this does not fix the issue i will review the books on the unit.

That is the specific use of WD40. Spray it when it is warm and the kerosene will evaporate and leave the waxy protective coating behind.

You need to repair your locked rotor then it will work

not car moved yah lost the users manual??? in it is the schematic, and on said schematic is what kills spark dead. 1: oil switch bad. 2:kill switch bad. 3: wires too those cut or shorted. it's all there to read, ask maker for the lost manual

Don't think you can check the avr it's self (capacitors you can) there are continuity tests you can do to the windings of the generator to determine a fault with that if that all checks out ok the avr is at fault

Hi, if possible please check your speed sensors within your generator to make sure each is still functioning properly. Otherwise, you might have to replace the sensors before the code goes away. Thank you.

Fault code is displayed if the engine starting battery voltage rises above 16 VDC for a 12 VDC system or above 30 VDC for a 24 VDC system for more than 2 seconds when the engine is not running. This fault condition does not inhibit engine starting. The fault condition clears when the battery voltage returns to a voltage within the limits for more than 2 seconds Check the battery rating and condition.

Kohler 5e Marine or mobile/Generator?????? working on this lacking a meter and manual. ? working blind I call it. not good that ever. call for help: it has 2 coils, 2 sparkplugs 2 HV wires to fail, (1 of them) and 2coil igniter we use and ohmeter to the bad coil. primary is of coil (ignitor end) is about 5 to 12ohms. (infinity bad) secondary coil is high ohms 1000 to 10000, par, infinty bad. the HV lead is used to measure secondary to coil core metal the HV lead can fail too. making coil useless. and last a bad ignitor , the 2 coils are same P/N so can be swapped and if failure move to other plug, bingo for bad plug , otherwise bad ingnitor box.

That is an engine running issue, not a battery issue. :>D The first thing to check would be fuel supply. Can you start up manually and keep it running. If you can, it is the contactor that senses your loss of mains power and switches the generator on. It is not maintaining the connection, or is is misdiagnosing the power from the generator as power from the mains.

the water pump decides that and not told that. maker nor model 7.5 means kilo watt, KW. of energy;. for gen or 7500watts a pump less that that can push a lot of water GPM gallons per minute,but have not idea what you are doing.
