Janome SEW MINI Mechanical Sewing Machine Questions & Answers
Janome sew mini needle not picking up bobbin thread.
Hi: Is this a needle provided with the machine as new? What type of fabric are you sewing... have you tried a different fabric? Is the bobbin placed into the machine correctly with it unwinding in the right direction?
Bobbin case catching thread
I believe that you are talking about the assembly that holds the bobbin case in. The bracket that holds the bobbin case in must be adjusted to allow the upper thread to slide by. Check if the thread will go by this area without "hanging up" while rotating the hand wheel. Also check your bobbin to make sure you have the right one. If it is too high or wide it will definitely be a problem.

when you sew keep a eye on the thread take up lever & see if the thread comes off while your sewing, I've had this happen to me & I've been sewing for over 30 years. if this does happen, take a pair of pliers & very gently close the take up lever just alittle but not enough to damage it.also check the needle to see if it's damaged--if your not sure change the needle--flat side goes to the back of the machinealways make sure the fabric & needle & thread are compatable--the thread must be able to pull thru the needle with out any problemalso check to make sure there are not any burrs on the needle plate or bobbin or bobbin case

Check the bobbin tension and that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the bobbin holder.

My Janome 300e screen is frozen on the info page (Main Ver.1.00-K-001Y, Slave Ver.001, DCI Ver.1.06) Can I reset it?
- Power Off: Turn off your machine completely. Make sure it's not just in standby mode but completely powered down.
- Unplug: Disconnect the power cord from the outlet. Wait for about 10-15 seconds to ensure all power is drained from the machine.
- Plug Back In: Reconnect the power cord to the outlet.
- Power On: Turn on your Janome 300e and see if the screen is responsive now.
If the issue persists even after performing a reset, there might be a more significant problem with the machine's software or hardware. In such cases, it's advisable to contact Janome customer support or a certified technician for further assistance. They may provide additional troubleshooting steps or recommend servicing the machine.
I have a Janome model 577 (I know it's old!!) and
If the top tension is on 0 I suspect the problem begins in the bobbin, make sure first of all the bobbin is turning anti clockwise in the bobbin case, when you pull the thread through the bobbin case there should be slight resistence, if it is too loose turn the screw on the bobbin case clockwise about a quarter of a turn to tighten, if it is not making muh difference you may have fluff stuck under the spring on the bobbin casem take a fine sewing needle and slide it under the spring to see if you can get any fluff out, top tension about 4 or 5
Where can I find a Janome kwiknit Knitter CHJ-3 munual?
I have the Janome CHJ-3 Kwiknit Knitter and am having some problems with it. Purchased this machine some40 years ago and used it an awful lot and was always very happy with it. After storage and loaning it out, it now does not work. Needs a service I suppose which I would like to do myself. Does this machine have a sponge bar? Can I download embroidery editor from janome site instead of downloading from cd
You can download the Artistic Designer program from Janome,
https://www.janome.com/products/software/ . However, it will not work unless you have purchased a license key from a dealer. For other Janome software, only updates for supported software are available:
https://www.janome.com/support/general-support/software-support/ . You'll either need the program to have been installed on your computer or to put the CD in an optical disc drive. If your current computer doesn't have an optical disc drive, you can get a USB optical drive from Amazon or any other shop that has electronic/computer parts. USB DVD read/write drives are under $50 even at most shops that don't discount accessories. You may need the USB type C (M) to USB type A (female) adapter with some of the newest models (laptops and tablets).
I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the name and version of your software for further assistance. If your software is no longer supported by Janome, there are some third-party embroidery editing software packages. One is

Your space is not formatted correctly to the size of the hoop. For example if the hoop is 5x7 your design has to fit within that space, and the space cannot be bigger than 5x7. Strange but true and it will fix the reboot and shut down issue.
